Well looks like my ERC-2 may have bit the dust...Sat down to enjoy some music inserted a disc in the player it accepted the disc then the front display flickered and then every option light/character in the display lit up and will not shut off nor will it eject the disc. I shut off the switch in the back, that didn't work then I unplugged unit and let sit for a while didn't work either....Any suggestions?
Thanks

This would be the first I've heard of something like this happening. I'd say if it didn't reset by turning the main power "rocker" switch off on the back of the unit, then a call to Emotiva on Monday should be in order.

Thank you! It is in need of service for sure...It has been very quirky from the day I got it...I am a bit disappointed even though it's covered under warranty. I love the sound/soundstage it may be time to look elsewhere....Any thoughts? What about the ERC-3?

I would say wait until you get it repaired before moving on. One of my ERC-2's ended up with a cracked spindle table and motor that made it dreadful. Once Emotiva repaired it, it is back and sounding better than ever. I love both the ERC-2 and ERC-3. It would probably come down to if you prefer a front loader or a tray. Personally the ERC-3 is a bit more noisy with motor noise when you are close up and playing discs at low volume but the soundstage is even better than the ERC-2.
