Movie 8 SQ 8 PQ 9
Yup, another post apocalyptic flick....
Yup, It's Mad Max Yup, It's in the desert Yup,It's full of odd vehicles and strange looking characters Yup, its full of pretty women
But it's well done. The storyline while taking a bit of time to develop, becomes very interesting (this movie is really about a chase across the desert). The acting is good with Charlize Theron looking pretty tough (and hot) at the same time. Great action scenes along with tender moments makes this a fun movie to watch. Great flick to show off you home theater and a fantastic transfer to Bluray - one of the best I've seen.
Hey, it's not Gone with the Wind but given it's genre and target market, it's very good.
Check it out.

Ture. This film does full justice to the home theater setup and has become my demo movie. 7.1 system comes fully alive.

Got around to watching this the other night and it has the most information in the 4 rear/surround channels of any movie I've watched - BY FAR. I went back to the shoot-out scene in The Matrix, which I know inside and out for demo purposes, and MMFR puts it to complete shame. I'm curious what other movies out there use the surrounds so well? I felt like I was in an iMax.
Btw, the guitar and drum guys made the movie look/sound like they contracted Cirque du Soleil on the set. Hilarious, but a great jam.

I found the bass in this movie obnoxious and the story line boring.

I was never a fan of the Mad Max movies past or this one. I did watch this and agree the movie gave my system a good workout. My son loved it though.

I was a huge fan of Miller and the first two original Mad Max films. This one should have been renamed Mad Maxine as it was not about Max at all. I found it incredibly disappointing and an offensive slap in the face to fans of the other films. However, it does deliver in giving your system a workout, but then so does T4 without the PC crap.

Yup, it sucked. I guess that's why it won six oscars and was nominated for 4 more www.imdb.com/title/tt1392190/awards?ref_=tt_awd

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 7000 members vote for the Oscars so I have no idea what you are talking about. The larger point is any movie that has received this many accolades doesn't suk. All combined it won over 200 awards as was nominated for 180 more. Hey, to this day I still think Pulp Fiction was awful. Never understood why so many liked it.....

I've never seen any of the Mad Max movies, but regarding the specific one for this thread, after reading the posts so far I can't decide if it is a great movie, average or overrated, not so good one. Can more people post so I can make up my mind?

A lot of movies that have won awards that i bet you hated or down right thought sucked, and there are lots of movies people hate I love. Its all in what you like and what makes you happy. Fury Road did not make me happy
