I had an S=VHS VCR. In the 80's. And I had an Alesis ADAT recorder that used S-VHS tapes. In about 1991. At the time, they were the shiiit. By today's standards, both formats suck. Too cool. I had an XT-20. Loved it. Got allot done doing out our mixes and other post production with it. I miss it, but it is so inefficient now. But it was cool. Like Geebo I recorded allot of VHS-hifi music and it was great. 6 hours of uninterrupted music in full fidelity. That was the good part of VHS hifi. Had a JVC, and a Mitsubishi with the jog wheel locator feature. Transports finally died, and that was it. Might delve into it again. Lots of Panasonic AG units around, but most are dead, or nearly, so maybe not. Flash recording is so easy now, tape kind of got left behind for me.

Yes, today they suck, let's not forget back then most tvs were 36 inches, at least for most people, and 99.9% of content was 240 lines of resolution, and 4:3 aspect, yaikes, lol...
