Plug one end into the computer and the other into your PT5. If you're not happy with the sound, then worry about spending money on something like a DAC better than the one in your computer.

I've decided to pick up the Behringer UCA 202 DAC. I think it will be a good starting point to just get my feet wet with out spending too much money right off the bat.

Haha, I will warn you up front, my friend...there's no such thing as spending enough. It is a disease..."and the only cure, is MORE COWBELL."

The UCA is more than adequate for your setup. The speakers are likely to be your weakest link, assuming your source material isn't too compressed.

Congrats on the new DC-1, I personally haven't heard one but from the reviews I've read on the forum, it's a nice piece of gear. Mark

Ok, I've had a few days with the DC-1 and I really, really like it. After listening for a while using the Adcom amp I decided to try out my XPA-2 G2, that I had in stock, boy that really brought it to life. Starting a "what speakers do I need?" thread soon. Thanks for all the help.

The bottom of the woofer needs to be about 4' to 4'6" of the floor. But hey, I'm open to all suggestions.

At the risk of being whacked by some here... Why not Klipsch bookshelf speakers? Decent ones can be found readily used for a good price. I have also heard great things about the RP-160M.

I've got some Klipsch RB-81 11's in the other room that I could try full range. I did have the XPA-2 G2 hooked up to them just running the high frequencies and was just too bright, maybe full range will work better.

If Desk space is a premium. You owe yourself a listen to the Egos. They are really good. The Schiit Fulla is another good one. I think the Egos will beat the Fulla though, but for the small dollars the Ego is going for you can't ignore it. Allot like the Audioquest Dragonfly too. I think the BiFrost is real good if you can spare the space. Then my all time favorite will be the DC-1. It is just so amazingly honest, and so open. It does so many things musically so well. Also the flexible Balanced and Unbalanced outputs for some flexible installation options. It is a grand time for DACS and you will be rewarded with some great sounding music. There are literally hundreds of DACS to chose from. You go at it for years and probably not try all of them. But the ones I know, and like the DC-1 for me is the honey on the music. The Bifrost is the second desktop, then for the small guys, the Egos. In that order, for me it is just so darn easy. Nice thing about the Egos is that they travel well, so if your office is anywhere around the world, the Egos go with you too. After all you should never leave your Ego at home.

I haven't heard the 81's, but I am running RF-3 II towers on a UPA-2 and the sound is absolutely great. Don't forget also how revealing horns can be, a better source (such as the XDA) may improve that issue as well.
