I can't believe I've spent 2 hours so far trying to figure out if I need something more then the cheap monoprice xlr cables?
Do I need to spend like a $100 or more to connect my new xpa-1L mono amps coming monday to my stealth dc-1?
Also I see most of thsee cables are made for microphones? Does it matter or stay away from those?

Yep you are in great shape. Microphone cable XLR is balanced XLR cable and it will work great with any balanced audio gear like your XPA to DC-1 connection. No need for a hyper expensive cable unless you want too.
Lots of fine bargain XLR cables that will do great out there.

I've used Monoprice XLR and for the most part they have been fine although I found two of them that were defective because they were wired incorrectly. Now I am using cables from Blue Jeans Cable and also some Canare L4E6S Star Quad XLR cables purchased from Amazon. They cost a little bit more but after finding those two miswired Monoprice cables I stopped using Monoprice. Sound-wise I don't detect any differences, though. You'd probably do just fine with Monoprice but I decided to spend a little more to get cables I had more confidence in.
Note: if you are going to buy several Monoprice cables it is cheaper to get them directly from Monoprice rather than Amazon because even if you have Prime shipping, the Amazon price has the shipping built into it and it's more than what Monoprice charges for multiple items.

Thanks.. that's good to know. Though monoprice charges alot for shipping. True, Monoprice's shipping increases incrementally with each unit so it isn't economical to just get one or two items. But Amazon's pricing has the shipping built in so you pay the same per-piece charge which makes it uneconomical if you buy several items. My main complaint about Monoprice is their shipping speed sucks. I live one county away and it takes three days to get to me because although they tell you something is shipping that day, all they really do is create the label and then it goes out a day or two after that. The bigger they've gotten the worse their shipping has become. I used to get everything the next day. Not any more.

With the exception of several power cords, most of the other cables in my system are from Monoprice, including the XLR's. I live close to but not close enough to the company headquarters and it used to be overnight deliveries but now take about 3 days.

The Monoprice Premier Series XLR cables are quite solid. I used them for the past 2 years for my subs without any problems and still have them. I have however replaced them recently with 2 of the 5 meter Emotiva balanced X-Series XLR's as I needed longer runs and just wanted to go all Emotiva cables. There is no difference except in build and connectors and prefer the Emotiva connectors over the Neutrik, but this is just preference. Again the Mogami XLR's I mentioned above are fine cables as well. For clarity, if any of these cables I mentioned weren't built well with good connectors and solid cabling, as well as being affordable, I would have just chosen one of the proven commodities and continued using it.

Yeah if I could afford the extra coin I too would of grabbed the sexier emotiva cables we well. only us audio nuts would refer to cables/equipment as 'sexy'. what a sorry lot we are…….. i remember an audio dealer way back in the day referring to the insides of a krell amp as doing something beneficial for the more private areas of the male anatomy. our wives/mates just wouldn't understand. tchaik………….
