Does anyone have experience with a good height for the Stealth 8's for normal two channel listening ? Is the mount height of the speaker @ 32" too high or too low ? Current height requirements for using the Stealth 8's for my Korg Keyboard. Top of keyboard is 30" and sitting at keyboard ear level is 45" high. A rough estimate for mounting for Keyboard use would be about 32" high. I also want to turn them around and use them for two channel sitting and standing. I think I have found the stands for a pair of Stealth 8's for dual purpose. There are two different type stands I am looking at from the same company. The first is adjustable and the speaker sits on a hanging platform that can be raised/lowered and tilted. They cost $600 to $700 per pair and weigh 60 to 70 lbs. each. They come from the factory filled with something priority. "They are prefilled with special materials to make them acoustically dead." The platform size for this model is 12" X 16" but you can get custom larger size. "This stand works best for speakers that have a width no wider than 24 inches and a depth no greater than 18 inches." I think this will be large enough for the Stealth 8. soundanchors.com/products/2014/adj2The second is a big four post that will maybe give better sound quality but they are custom made and fixed so you need to get the height right when you order them. Same, Same they cost $600 to $700 per pair and weigh 60 to 70 lbs. each. They come from the factory filled with something priority. I use ultimate supports for my stealth 6 as mentioned above. I like the MS100 as it comes with the adjustable base to angle the speaker. Super sturdy and look great. Check Amazon for them.

If you get a fixed height stand, you could err on the low side and put some things under either the speaker or the base to adjust the height. To save you $$ for the cost of an adjustable height stand.

With my research for stands for my Airmotiv 5s and also over the years I learned that having mass and being inert was a good thing for a speaker. Isolation and dampening vibrations was also a good thing. The first results for stands for the Stealth 8 were stands like the Ultimate Support or On-Stage. Just across the room is a Dual Ultimate Support stand for my guitars and a On-Stage Z stand for my keyboard. They are both well built and stable for that gear. I bought the heaviest microphone boom stands I could find and they are made by On-Stage. The Ultimate Support MS-90 weighs 12.2 lbs. and has rubber pads for isolation. The Ultimate Support MS-100 weighs 15.7 and uses a high-density acoustic foam mount for isolation. A common way to make a speaker stand more inert is to put sand, kitty litter or small lead shot into the structure of the stand. The goal of making the speaker stand heavy is to not only make them inert but also stable. The Stealth 8 is very large and heavy and being top heavy on a light stand is not stable. Especially in a work environment around other gear and people. Also I plan on moving them around the room at times so I decided to pass on the lower weight stands and see what the big boys use. The fact that I was getting two professional Monitors for $1500 verses the many thousands of dollars for the ADAM or ATC monitors I felt I can afford the extra for my stands. I actually plan on using them to record professionally. Although you will not read many reviews of the Stealth 8 for that purpose I dug into the forums where the recording professionals post and with a lot of digging and reading between the lines I know that there is great word of mouth on them and they are being used to mix commercial music. Big Dan and Lonnie told me as much when they were in Atlanta. I am getting more than just some monster built, heavy high dollar stands for my Stealth 8's. Read on. In my research for my Airmotiv stands I looked to see what the Professionals used. I noticed in a picture of one of the current advanced recording studio's mixing consoles that under the high dollar ATC monitors there was a square device that they were sitting on. When I looked into it I found out they were IsoAcoustic stands that were custom built into the console. You can special order bolt-on mounts and custom designed stands from IsoAcoustic. You can also order custom designs for the Sound Anchors Specialty Audio Stands. There were no reviews for the IsoAcoustic stands but they had just released a aluminum frame stand called the Aperta. It is a small stand for small desktop monitors. They are now making a larger version to hold more weight called the Aperta 200. I could spend hours typing about these stands and only have became a huge fan of them after I spent $200 for them and put my Airmotiv's on top of them. They are not snake oil. Huge and amazing sound quality improvement. At first I would take the Airmotiv's on and off the stands for days because at first I noticed less boom and thought maybe I want that boom. Every time I would go back on the stands there was improvement in many ways other than the perceive loss of low end. My desktop is pretty thick and inert and the Airmotiv's have a foam layer on the bottom. The Desk and objects on the desk would vibrate without the stands. On the stands you could lay your hand on the desktop and feal almost zero vibrations. Same went for objects on the desk. When not using the stands, if you could hear over the sound the Airmotiv's the desktop surface and objects were making a rattle sound from the sound vibrations. There are other features of this stand that provide for the stand to move with the inertia of the drivers. The feature that has been awesome to me is being able to tilt the front of the speaker up. You can also tilt it down if required. The small amount of tilt up in the front improved the imaging very much. I made measurements for the toe and tilt to get a perfect match of both Airmotiv's. The soft rubber on the bottom and top of the stands has since welded themselves to the desktop and speaker over time and with the heat of the amps in the speakers. I could not be happier that they are stuck in place. If I push on the front of the speaker it just moves back and forth like the post with oblong rubber grommets were designed for. Push the speaker from the side and the desk will move before the speaker. My plan is to sit the larger IsoAcoustic Aperta 200 $250 a pair stands on the platform of the 70 lbs. Sound Anchor ADJ2 $700 a pair stands to perform the same purpose that the Ultimate Support stands use foam and rubber pads on there stands. If I get the Sound Anchor 4 post fixed height I will still be using the IsoAcoustic Aperta 200 on top. I have no doubt that the Sound Anchor and IsoAcoustic Aperta 200 will perform better than the Ultimate Support MS-100. If I wanted to save money I would very much consider it and others. Read bout the IsoAcoustic stands here: v2.isoacoustics.com/products/aperta-series/Read a review on them here: www.hometheatershack.com/forums/misc-equipment-reviews/137281-isoacoustics-inc-aperta-modular-aluminum-speaker-stand-review.html

LC, I live in an Apt and getting lazy since I retired. My Chevron and Exon stock are doing pretty good so I am started to come off penny pinching mode I have been in all my life. Feels good to be able to buy stuff and I deserve it. All you young folks, do not do as I do. Build it yourself and save/invest your money. I actually think even though the market is up from the beginning of 2016, it is still a good time to invest in certain things. The US seems to be doing better than most around the globe but sadly that is not saying much.

Could not find the photo I saw back then but here is another with the ATC Monitors on Sound Anchor stands fitted with IsoAcoustic mounts. Pretty impressive set up. "ATC SCM150 studio monitor isolation with IsoAcoustics Modular Aluminum system. We installed the Modular Aluminum 3x2 configuration in the Sound Anchor stands at Mike Wells Mastering LA, California. Sound Anchor provided new supporting rails with end plates and holes cut to specification, to accomodate the IsoAcoustics POD's. The installation took about an hour..... the results were AMAZING."

I know I am getting a lot of suggestions for stands but already decided on stands. Looking for others that have the Stealth speakers that have tried different mount heights. Thanks anyway. With stocks you have to do your own homework. Your taking a risk and taking someone's advice without knowing yourself can be dangerous ! You take Mcdonald's after they announced all day breakfast. There stock went up 35% in a few months. If you read news and see trends you can get in on them. Still a big risk. Amazon just hit record levels. Bad time to buy a stock can be when it is at it's highs. Better time to sell ! Amazon , Microsoft and IBM are big on the cloud storage. I have a good friend that makes $85 an hour designing guided missiles, Heads-up displays for fighters, the garage door opener you have and a dozen other things everyone here has. They just tapped him to design something for cloud storage here in Alpharetta Ga. It was in the news recently. I am looking that way right now. I have been big on energy for the past 20 years. I am long energy. It has done me good. Go find out what Thomas Boone Pickens is saying before you invest in energy though.

Quite a bit different from what has been recommended so far, but when I had my Stealth 8's, I purchased three to go across the front. I wanted the center channel below the TV. Lonnie recommended having all at the same height rather than the L/R higher than the center, so I purchased some custom-made wood stands that were about 9" high and tilted upward so that the tweeters would be aiming at my ears in my normal listening seat. Lonnie was right; having the fronts all at the same height made for a seamless listening experience. Even in two channel it sounded great - having speakers on stands that tilt upwards sounds just as good as ones on higher stands that face straight out. Here's the place where I got the stands. They do nice work but don't expect anything in a hurry. www.gwizpro.com/stands/index.phpThe shape/form of the stands look like this, except I ordered black, and the plates are smaller and rounded: Like I said, this is quite a bit different in terms of both the looks, material and also height from the other recommendations but for me it works very well. As far as isolation properties, I use these under the speakers. Granted, they do look a bit odd. www.supplyhouse.com/DiversiTech-MP-2E-EVA-Anti-Vibration-Pad-2-x-2-x-7-8

Having the Stealth's at low heights sounds like it would be more friendly to Home Theater use. I prefer my center channel below the display and using tower speakers for the mains you do not have the option to level the high frequency drivers with the center high frequency drivers normally when the center is down low under the display. This is good information for those planning this. Thanks Monku. I have a different requirement. I am going to use the Stealth 8's for the sound while playing my Keyboard and guitars. I plan to rotate them around to face the larger room and use them for a 2 way system also. I gave thought to fixed height stands because they can be more robust. The adjustable stands I have chosen are of very healthy weight and size and can adjust in height from floor level to 44" or 56" depending on the which uprights I choose to purchase them with. The Stealth's will be able to be adjusted-tilted facing down or up as well. I can see them mounted high and tilted down when used for my Keyboard and possibly lowered and tilted up for 2 channel use. Not sure how much work it will be yet. It may work out that the position I use them at my Keyboard will also work for 2 channel. They would only need to be rotated. This is not your normal use of a single pair of speakers. We will see. In this picture you see my Sony towers (with blown tweeter replaced with spare parts tweeter)on both sides of my Keyboard. They are going away and the Stealth 8's on stands are going in there place. Also watch the video of how my stands are able to be adjusted.

Those look like the perfect stands for your situation - sturdy and versatile. They sure are expensive but what the heck - get what's best so you don't end up having second thoughts later on, and either being unhappy, or winding up selling what you bought at a loss to pay for what you should have gotten in the first place but now the prices have gone up. Nice stands. Good luck with getting it all in place and set up!
