I have had an XSP-1 G2 for over a month - but due to some problems with my amp - just returned from being repaired - I have just this last weekend finally had a chance to listen to the XSP-1. It replaced an aging but still working Parasound PLD 2000. My first impression is that while the XSP-1 is a very good preamp the instrument separation is not as clean or precise as the Parasound. I am not unhappy with the sound I just miss the clarity that the Parasound produced. I will continue to listen just in case the "burn it in for a 100-200 hours folks" are correct. And will report back. I am using balanced in from a Schiit Gungnir Dac and balanced out to an NHT XDa amp. If any one has Ideas on how to tweak this amp set-up I am all ears... Thanks.

I would TRY adjusting and 'fine tuning' speaker location / setup to see if THAT helps.
I own a Parasound P5 and a pair of A23, so I kind of get it.
