Ok I have been through Carvers , Parasounds ( older ones)...lol no really high end ones but a lot of older mid-fi UNTIL now , first was an XCPA3 , then the 5 , now on to this beast , I am playing through an older pair of Klipsch rf-7's with upgrades and the ksp's with there duel 6 inch woofers , I really do hear a good bit of difference in the tightness of the entire speaker not just the mids or highs. I watched part of Fast and Furious and it was so crisp and clean , then cranked up ( the sound of silence ) my neighbors will get over it . I have to say this 100 monster was worth the pulled back .....lol.

Very similar experience here as well when I first introduced the XPR amps into my Klipsch setup. Just because a speaker has a high sensitivity, doesn't mean it can't benefit from an amplifier with as much headroom as the XPR's. Congrats!!!

You know it's funny bc as I read this post I was reminded of how I felt when I first hooked up my XPR-1s and was blown out of my seat amazed at how good they sounded. Got to thinking that while I respect and understand the company changing direction to target a more mainstream sector of the market, I really hope that Emotiva hasn't completely abandoned its Reference line. I am aware of the sobering reality that the masses will not be ordering these products in volume and that they most likely aren't incredibly profitable but as a die hard audio enthusiast I believe that the XPR line gave Emotiva credibility with the naysayers of the high end community. It is my hope someday they will release more reference components even if they are limited run or limited editions.

I just sold my XPR-5 a month ago. As awesome as the XPR-5 is the step up to the XPR-1's is even bigger! Love the XPR-1's! I would never ever get rid of the XPR-1's

Hi are you interested to sell your Xpr? :-) I may be selling my pair of XPR-1's and my single XPR-2 within the next few weeks, all 3 amps are an 8 on Audiigon grading scale & have factory packing, all amps are registered in my name with Emotiva & were used in a secondary system built with the intention of triamping Roger Russell's personal McIntosh XR-290 line arrays with all emo gear, the plan was to run the XPR-1's on the 8 woofers, the single XPR-2 on the 24 midranges, then the long promised Emotive tube amps driving all 48 tweeters. I used a pair of McIntosh Mc-2012 Tube amps as 200W monoblocks to power the tweeters for several years while patiently waiting for Emotiva to release the promised tube line, needless to say the McIntosh gear stood out like a sore thumb & the mismatch was too much,I've since replaced the 1,000W XPR-1's with a pair of 1,200W McIntosh Mc-1201 monoblocks on the woofers,a pair of 500W McIntosh Mc-501's on the midrange & left the pair of 200W Mc-2102's powering the tweeters so the system would be matching gear . I'm waiting on my eldest son to make his mind up weather he wants the Emo amps or not before I list them,if your serious keep your eye out in the threads here, I will list all my Emotiva gear for sale here for 3 days before I put it all on Aidiogon so Emo enthusiasts have 1st shot . As soon as my son decides if he's swapping the Krell gear for the Emotiva gear in a few days I will know for sure.

Let me spoil the party. Really ? You can hear the difference on a speaker with sensitivity of 98 plus? I am not doubting you just questioning you.
