My XPS-1 stopped working today. But I can't figure out what is the problem. When I insert the plug from adapter to XPS-1 box, it lights for a second (I mean blue LED) and then goes off. Switching adapter when plugged into the XPS box produces slight pulsing squeaky sound (like twice per second). When adapter is not plugged into the box, there is no sound. I checked switching adapter with multimeter and it seem it is it OK.
So what is the problem? Adapter or XPS-1 itself?
Please advise!
thank you!
R.

Standard adapter supplied with XPS-1. It says Switching Adapter. DC 12V, 0.5A. Basically, it is standard small AC/DC adapter as I can see it

OK... what we're talking about is what most people would call an "AC adapter" (a "wall wart" in popular parlance).
Unfortunately, the symptoms you've described aren't conclusive.... (A shorted XPS-1 could cause the adapter to act oddly; but a faulty adapter could act that way with an XPS-1 that's working perfectly. The fact that the adapter measures correctly under "no load" suggests that it's working OK, but isn't conclusive.)
I would call in and let the support person decide whether they want to just ship you a replacement wall wart to try first, of have you ship both in for us to look at.

When you call ask for Dan. Give him the secret password. Just say "I want a 300 watt tube amp".

Mystically, it started working after a few hours. I had feeling that when I shake the XPS-1 box, something has changed. Maybe bad joint or something. Anyway, it is good now and I am happy I don't need to ship it It is great little phono preamp. I am thinking of buying another one, though I am intrigued by tube preamp have a nice weekend! R.

I have recently learned that Aliens are here on Earth and taking control of humans minds. I am in the process of searching for these Aliens to take control of Dan's mind and make him build a 300 watt tube monoblock and price it between $1500 and $2000. As soon that happens I will let everyone know. Meanwhile everyone needs to call Emotiva and demand a 300 watt tube amp. I want a 300 watt tube amp

rpsvk Did you get this resolved yet ? If you have any problems with Emotiva gear they are good about a replacement. Cheers Mike
