You guys just joining in should go back to the beginning of this thread and catch up on many things already discussed. And by the way, my version of the RMC-1 back panel is better. And no, I'm not joking this time. (See link) It's better and I don't care what anyone says. See prior posts in this thread for my opinions on why I feel the RMC-1 isn't quite the end all monster that was promised. It's basically X steps forward and Y steps backwards at the same time. Only you can determine whether X or Y is greater for your personal wants and needs. For me Y wins. I'll be waiting for the XMC-1 Gen 3. emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/843872/threadWell Bonzo, as a good friend always says, there is a @$$ for every seat. I'm sure if you built it, someone would buy it. Lonnie I think this is Lonnie's way of calling you an @$$ !! (Said in jest of course).

Well Bonzo, as a good friend always says, there is a @$$ for every seat. I'm sure if you built it, someone would buy it. Lonnie It's so nice when the owner of a company jumps in with personal attacks. Perhaps LCSeminole will ban you like he threatened just the other day? Ya know Lonnie, your right, it is your company, and you yourself certainly know a schiitload more than me about building such stuff. Just like I know a schiitload more about what I do for a living than you do. I also know it's your own company's cohorts (and likely even you) that have asked for, praised and thanked us forum members for our contributions, opinions, ideas, and inputs to help your company thrive. I believe Emotiva has taken many of our ideas and thoughts and used/implemented them to help make your living. You may not like the way I've gone about it (sorry if you can't handle tough love), but some of my ideas and thoughts have made it up the Emotiva product chain. For example, it was ansat (Tony) who had the original idea, but it was me (along with a handful of others) that pushed the heck out of adding Atmos/DTS:X to the XMC-1 by using the existing RCA Zone outputs. Emotiva, reported mostly by KeithL, and more specifically you personally, were adamant that it would never happen and that it was certainly not even under consideration for the XMC-1. There were even people here who attacked me personally for doing so (and I'd guess you yourself and Dan were cussing me down in Franklin). But knowing the #1 Emotiva motto should be something like "we reserve the right to change our minds at anytime about anything," I pressed on, believing it was not only the right thing that most people wanted, but that it would help the XMC-1 live on longer and help Emotiva thrive. And look what happened...need I say more. So again I'm giving out some tough love, and you aren't liking it I assume. Sorry, I can't help you there. Sorry if you'd rather I be complacent, and not an @$$ as you called me, but it's not in my nature. I'd just like to summarize that my main goal with my tough love is to help make things the best they can be, for everyone. Dan told us all in so many words that the the RMC-1 would be the grand master of all processors. The thing is, as I see it from looking at the back panel, it just isn't. For me, the RMC-1 should not be more than the XMC-1 on one hand, and less than the XMC-1 on the other hand. It should start where XMC-1 leaves off, and then be nothing but more. Bigger and better in every way. It should be the entire 10 layer cake, and we should get to eat the entire 10 layer cake. Bonzo P.S. Why don't you make a poll here to see which back plate input/output layout everyone would prefer for the RMC-1, yours or mine? Let me know if you are too busy and I'll do it for you if you like.

Oh well...apparently it wasn't in jest. He did respond to it though. I know different people want different stuff but for me a reference processor is not really about features. It's about sound quality - and the support for the latest relevant standards. I couldn't care about legacy analog inputs especially video etc etc. But I know there are some dinosaurs that do. That's fine. Everybody has different requirements. I think a phono input makes sense though but not enough sense if it involves compromising audio quality.

Bonzo Relax dude. I never attacked you. Please go back and read my post and you will see I never called you an @$$. The phrase if you missed the meaning was to say that there are so many different people in the world that you will always find like minded people. I never said your ideas were bad or wrong in anyway. But since you took the time to attack me, let me just address a couple of things. First off you brought up the lack of RCA outputs. The RMC-1 is a fully balanced system and targeted to hard core audiophiles, so balanced makes the most since here. You also asked why the little a-100 has RCAs and not the RMC. Well simply put, the a-100 is a single ended system and targeted towards a lower price point. Please note that it doesn't have XLRs. I would also like to point out that if we made the processor the way you suggest, it would be a 4RU unit, The cost would increase at least another grand because adding additional HDMI inputs and outputs is a huge under taking to start with. Adding a 7.1.4 analog input and analog video inputs is also not a simple task when you look at how this would have to integrate into the system architecture. Saying that you would like to see these added is one thing, but attacking us for not doing it without any knowledge of what it would take to make it happen is a bit un-called for in my opinion. So relax, if the RMC is not your cup of tea, no problem. Oh, one more thing. I'm not one of the owner's, I just work here along with a lot of other good people. Lonnie

Please provide the specific areas where I "attacked" you or anyone else in my recent posts above. I think maybe you are confusing critiquing with abuse. On the contrary, your statement was absolutely a back handed sly way of attacking me. Please don't insult my intelligence by saying otherwise or denying it. And then you make assumptions that I don't understand extra costs and efforts on what it would take. Please. Of course I get that. I'm just saying what I think it should be, and it isn't that. Like you said, I just won't be buying one as it is. The XMC-1 Gen 3 will fit my needs / wants much better. I'm already budgeting for it. Unless I change my mind and buy a Marantz of course. P.S. I'm more than relaxed. P.S.S. I don't think this particular thread needs any more back and forth from you and me. If you want to keep talking lets go off to P.M. land and do so.

I think like many others here, since you are always in the podcasts and seem to head up many other parts of the Emotiva train, I (we) consider Emotiva to be lead by 3 folks, you being one of them. Sorry if I made you more important than you really are. ( THAT, was a sarcastic joke meant to be funny, not degrading.)

Please don't insult our intelligence by saying otherwise or denying it. The fact that I used the "sarcasm" and "funny" smiley faces, and literally spelled out my joking intentions, says otherwise. It's the only way on a forum to do so and I did. If Lonnie had done the same we might not be having this who attacked who conversation.

The unnecessary drama is why I'm always reluctant to spend too much time here. Just for once I'd love an RMC-1 thread that doesn't totally go off the rails.
Any new information about the RMC-1 beyond a back plate that doesn't have enough inputs to satisfy everybody? (Because that's impossible)

Speaking of inputs, that's a lot of HDMI inputs, maybe it's just me as I only use 3 (cable TV, BD and ATV) and when my son stays over he plugs in a PlayStation. So 4 is plenty for me, my cousin uses 5 as he has 2 games platforms, which is about the most I have encountered. Does anyone on here use 8? Do you think you would ever use 8?
Cheers Gary
