Quick question: I'm hooking up my Marantz 8802...seven of the outputs are going to an Emotiva Sherbourne PA7-350.... I was going to use the XLR connections... The other 4 outputs are going to an older Rotel 1075 that doesn't have XLR connections...just the unbalanced RCA. Can I mix and match? Does the Marantz send a signal out both outputs at the same time? Is this safe to do? I suppose if I can't, rather than spring for a new amp, I'll just go RCA interconnects all around for now. Same question for the sub outs...Does anyone know if the XLR sub outs are active at the same time as the rca sub outs? It will save me splitting since I have to go five ways (four subs and a setup of butt kickers).... I run XLR (7 main channels) from my AV8802 to my DR-2 and XPA-5. I run unbalanced (Atmos channels) to my BasX A-700. No issues at all. I’m not sure about the subs, but my guess is they would both work at the same time.

I knew I could count on you to come through. You haven't steered me wrong yet.

I find adding a sonos actually would in a way complicate things since it would just be another system to install and manage that would be separate from the media room setup. I am sure there are some advantages in a Sonos system as well, but I was just asking if there would be a way for the RMC to have that same function that the Marantz has with the multiple zones. As a heavy Sonos user, I will attest to the fact that you don't really have to "manage" them. And, their simplicity in use with ability to easily group multiple zones and adjust volume as a group or separately, as well as ability to play different things in different zones is a HUGE benefit. Before I had it, I would not have imagined how useful they are. And...my wife and both kids can easily use them and control from their preferred devices. Mark I have no actual experience with Sonos but as it doesn't playback high resolution music, wouldn't a NAD Bluesound system would be a better match with the RMC-1? I just checked: I have over 145,000 tracks on my server now, with a total of 11,403 high resolution tracks (24 bit from 24/44 to 24/192)

SONOS sounds great for CD quality. But, it can't do higher res. So, for various around the house listening (kitchen, great room, pool, deck, etc.) it's great. Mark

Okay, but mine is a semi-dedicated HT/media-room. I also want top sound in our living space and in our office. Can't stand doing boring office work without the best music available ;-)

Is this thread dead ? Why create new threads for the RMC-1 when this one exists ? Perhaps I'm not aware of emotivalounge usages ...

Is this thread dead ? Why create new threads for the RMC-1 when this one exists ? Perhaps I'm not aware of emotivalounge usages ... I think the general idea is this thread is preproduction, so its full of questions, speculations, rumors, what ifs, old information, and, mostly me bitching about it not having enough analog inputs and outputs. 😋 Well maybe not that last one. The new thread is supposed to be more factual with posts from owners and their experiences. But so far its falling short with people adding usless comments and asking questions about things that belong in other threads. Hopefully it will improve.

I’ve been away from the forum for a while. Can I still use my 40% upgrade card for the RMC? Sorry if this has been asked recently, but I fully admit not wanting to sift through 100+ pages. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. From what I understand, yes you can. However, if I read correctly, you pay the full price up front and mail in the card for a 40% refund back to your card. If I'm incorrect, perhaps someone can correct me.

I think the “charging the full price and refunding later” thing was just for those who wanted to quickly order online during these very brief, high-demand first order windows. There was nobody available to answer the phone in Tennessee when they released at midnight.

Are there any owner-created videos of the RMC-1 in action? Even unboxing?
