Glad to see we're all acting like adults again. Mostly.
There's a lot more that goes into developing a product than seeing what you can fit on a back panel. And IMO, if you can't take a joke, you might as well quit the Internet entirely.
If you don't like the quality-over-quantity approach of the RMC-1, and would prefer a maximal number of input ports the XMC-1 will continue to be available, and it will continue to be a very nice HT processor. It is not being replaced by the RMC-1.
I'm looking forward to an Emersa EMP-1 with Atmos and just a handful of inputs and outputs. I'll team it up with an Emersa four channel amp to run the overhead speakers.
JVC DLA-RS400 projector, CIH shrink method (DIY AT screen coming soon) B&W Nautilus 804 LR, HTM1 Cen (DIY 7pi LR and 4pi Cen coming soon) Four DIY 2pi surrounds Four DIY MFW-15 sealed subs with Crown XLS 1502 Rotel power amps: two RB-991 (2chx200wpc), one RB-993 (3chx200wpc) Oppo BDP-83, HTPC Win 10 and Kodi Emotiva UMC-200 System control by iRule, Lighting control by Insteon Nakamichi System 7: CA-7a preamp, CR-7a cassette, ST-7 tuner
From a quality standpoint, what will it have that's a step up (or 2 or 3) from the XMC?
I understood the XMR-1 would have the same high quality DACs for all channels and that all channels would be fully balanced. Dirac Unison with a higher sampling rate than Dirac Full would be a step up. The Marantz 8802A can play DSD downloads. It would be a big plus if the XMR-1 could do the same, but I doubt DSD capability will be included beyond SACD playback.
Yes please! I'm keen to see if it'll toast bagels...
Nick and I will try and get video this afternoon and post it.

If I were the CEO, I would be concerned about how you are spending your time. And while I'm at it, why do all the clowns have to pile on to every thread?

Because some people take themselves way too seriously not to have a good laugh at them. By the way, could you give ol' Bob Cratchit an extra lump of coal when it gets colder?

Sorry, my mistake! I thought this was a technology blog and that this thread was about a proposed A/V prepro and not about toasters. If Cratchit is still burning coal since the late 1800's, maybe people need to turn him on to new technology!
