I thought the multi axis encoder was pretty cool. Agreed, that sounded very cool and functional too. Just as long as the axis threshold is strong enough that you don't actually start changing the input source or whatever when you just wanted to turn up/down the volume. I'm a fan of how it was described. From the podcast it's the same as the encoder used in the upper level Mercs, which is probably their best feature. They have a good solid feel with very positive engagement. Cheers Gary

I think I will only be able realize mine after a trip to the USA so I can have it shipped to me there and use the 40% card otherwise it's a no go

Happy New Year everyone.
I am really looking forward to the RMC-1.

Hi Dan, Love your companies products. As an owner of multiple XPR-2's and XPR-1's, what is the possibility of bi-amping using the RMC-1? This was always a feature present on some processors, but missing on the XMC-1. If there was a basic assignable bi-amp option with crossover and level adjustment for all 5 channels (in addition to the assumed crossover going to the sub out), I'd buy the RMC-1 in a heart beat even for my existing 5.2 system. Please consider adding this feature for us crazy folks who want to reduce IMD and tweak things further by removing passive crossovers from our speaker drivers. This would have to be done downstream of any Dirac processing to avoid sending all frequencies to each speaker driver; I am sure it would come with design challenges, but I would settle for any bi-amp functionality even if it necessitates leaving my speakers passive crossovers in place (for safety reasons) provided there was some way to limit what frequencies go to each channel's bi-amped outputs. The RMC-1 wil support popular speaker mapping options. Stop reading too much into preliminary data. Geez.

etc: What speakers do you have? I can't imagine any tweeters that could benefit from 1000 or 600 rms watts.

It's to "remove passive crossovers" from the speakers, not feeding more power to the tweeters.
I am actually going to try and tri-amp the LCR. With an external crossover from miniDSP. To be continued.

The request is just for the RMC-1 feature. Hopefully the RMC-1 could tri-amp FL and FR, or even bi-amp 5 channels, while also crossing over to my subs. Having a way to limit what frequencies go to which amps has the benefit of reducing IMD and back EMF from the woofer even with leaving the passive crossovers in my speakers, and will be my first test. Not sure if I'll get rid of the XPR's once I remove my crossovers, but all the headroom will obviously not be needed once I remove the power wasting passive crossovers which is my eventual goal. etc: What speakers do you have? I can't imagine any tweeters that could benefit from 1000 or 600 rms watts.

Doesn't Meridian have something like this?
It is probably great but I'm sure it's a very small minority who uses active crossovers - especially from the pre-pro.
Who else makes such a product?

No doubt a fair price vs the competition. And it does seem to check off all the goodies except Auro 3D, but at that price point I believe a lot of XMC-1 owners will opt for the ATMOS upgrade and spend their money on other upgrades. 192/24 Dirac and the ability to play DSD downloads are both tempting. Maybe we will be lucky and the Sound and Vision price may be about a $1,000.00 high🤑.

The XMC-2 is reportedly going to be fully balanced for L/C/R with 96kHz/24bit Dirac. No idea what DSP or DACs.
I only run 5.1 in my system, and only the L/C/R are absurdly nice.
If I had half a brain in my head I'd probably just pop for that, but they do call it an addiction for a reason, eh?

I will never tell where it is. 😉 At $5,000 for the RMC-1, a 40% discount card represents a major chunk of change. I came to Emotiva after the 40% era and just have the 25% from purchasing the UMC-200.

I bought a second 40% card to purchase the XMC-1 while saving the one I got with the UMC-1 for the RMC-1... I sent it without insurance to Tennessee and it took about two weeks before it got there safe. The longest two weeks in my life!
Luckily for my nerves the other one is digital and kept by Emotiva.
While 40% off 5K$ is a lot, in my case it's almost entirely eaten up by the weak euro, the freight, tax and duties. Otherwise, I would think twice about buying this, to be honest. But now, it just seems a half-reasonable investment.

Sell the card and buy some plane tickets to visit the US. Use the UFL, have it shipped to a friend who you'll be visiting. You should still come out ahead.
