So over at AVS there's another sentence after the upmixer announcement, it says: "It'll be selectable along with all the other post processors from Dolby, DTS, Auro." To me this implies that the Dolby Upmixer (and others) will also be included. Of course the up-mixers from Dolby and DTS will be incorporated in the RMC-1. We're also developing our own cool up-mixer. The RMC-1 team have been busy boys. We'll need to come up with a name for the up-mixer... Hopefully something more imaginative than Emo-Logic... or E-logix, or E-allround... Ideas?? Cheers, Big Dan The files go through Emovation in the Emotivizor and come out Emovated? Or Emotivized?

Or, to make the spelling slightly unique, Emergents.

Wondering how many channels the RMC-1 is able to power on its own without an additional power amp? And will the RMC-1 support Dirac Unison?

Wondering how many channels the RMC-1 is able to power on its own without an additional power amp? And will the RMC-1 support Dirac Unison? As others have noted - it has no internal amps. Separate amps are needed. Regarding Unison, go the "Green Room", check the "Emofest Report" thread from me - 1st post. It has what was said at Emofest about Unison. And, I will update that over time if the news changes. Mark

Wow, lots of good names already. Hard to beat some of those. Using one of my favorite The Who songs as inspiration: EminenceEven the actual meanings sort of fit the bill. [em-uh-nuh ns]
noun 1. high station, rank, or repute: philosophers of eminence.
2. a high place or part; a hill or elevation; height.
3. (initial capital letter) Roman Catholic Church. a title of honor, applied to cardinals (usually preceded by His or Your).
4. Anatomy. an elevation or projection, especially on a bone.Or change it slightly to Emonence. I like Emonence I works for me. And would like to here that song played in 16 channels

My intention was to send the XLR outputs directly into an 16 port XLR audio interface for recording. As such, was trying to get an idea if I could do that or would need additional hardware. Found it, thank you! emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/50906/emofest-report-klinemj-scribe

As such, was trying to get an idea if I could do that or would need additional hardware. With the right mixer or 'interface' and recorder, you should be able to record all 16 analog channels (from your original question), but presumably since you're going to the trouble to convert them to analog, you'd need a 16 channel analog recorder which I imagine are pretty rare? Or is your goal to redigitize them into individual channels?
