Sounds like a Nigerian scam, next video will be that he just won a lottery and needs you to send him money to help him collect the winnings. After he claims his prize, he will send you half his winnings. Not sure how anyone can pass judgement on something that is not even out yet. The fact that he is whispering seems to me like he snuck into a room at CES or AXPONA and did his little video thing under cover of night...
I would never pay $5k on any processor which can easily be out of date in two to five years, that is the only thing I do agree with him on.

Hey guys, you know guys, this guy is a blithering idiot. He has absolutely no handle on Dolby Atmos, XLR vs RCA outs, room compensation software, or the difference between an A/V receiver and an A/V prepro, let alone what the true capabilities of the RMC-1 will be. Big Dan says it will do 9.2.6 or 7.2.6 or whatever. No Atmos prepro or receiver is going to have channel based wides in Atmos but will be able to utilize them for object sounds. DTS-X can do wides as a channel but DTS-X is limited to 13 channels. The RMC-1 may matrix wides if desired, but that feature is up to Emotiva and is not known at this time. Forget about this guy, guys, as a reviewer.

I think the weightless on Mars is much better then on our Moon, so its just not worth the trip to the Moon “guys”,,,,,, Mars is 1/10th the size of Earth, Luna (our moon) is 1/18th the size Earth. So the gravity on Mars is going to be much higher than on the moon, that's less weightlessness in Nick speak. If I weigh, say, 90 kgs on Earth then I'll weigh 9 kgs on Mars and 5 kgs on the moon. Cheers Gary

youtu.be/rTmS09b2SdgAnyone seen this? Here’s a guy with several You Tube videos Dissing the RMC before it’s even released! I know little about this unit....is he factually correct with anything he says? Bill I know forum rules don't allow us to publically call people names, but does that hold with "strangers"? This guy is a complete utter (until I get confirmation of the original question, no formal in writing post). 🤣 As Bugs Bunny used to say, what a maroon. What a ning-cow-poop. What I really don't get myself is why people feel the need to make such a video about anything. Obvious personal issues. As we used to say, this guy is a doosh-bag.

I called Emotiva today to ask about the status of the RMC-1 and the representative told me his best guess was late summer and not to "expect anything in the next month or two"

since we can’t have dipoles due to the object sounds and that needed directionality. You bring up a good point that typically gets hidden under the rug. I've read people basically saying dipoles are obsolete, to throw them away. But then others say they actually prefer them still, even when using atmos. My speakers are bipolar, and they aren't going anywhere just because of Atmos. Certainly not in the garbage, or even lower down on the wall. First of all, its going to be a long while from now until Atmos or DTS-X is the norm, used for regular TV. And we watch a lot of regular TV. So I'm not going the sacrfice the sound of the majority of our watching just to have the perfect ultimate Atmos. Same goes for my hundreds of blurays with Dolby True or DTS Master. To really make this work, we'd all need two sets of speakers. One set dipole and one set direct. For example, at my house, I would need to put the dipoles up the wall and the directs inwall. And then need more amps, and some sort of switcher. But thats crazy for me. Second, I hoping my bipoles are a good mix inbetween. Maybe not super duper perfect for either regular TV, Dolby True, or Atmos, but a good compromise. Gotta go. Be back later for more reasons...... This guy says that an Atmos amplifier will use the monopol speakers to diffuse sound like a bipolar or dipole speaker. Read post #407163 www.axiomaudio.com/boards/ubbthreads.php/topics/406839/3

I called Emotiva today to ask about the status of the RMC-1 and the representative told me his best guess was late summer and not to "expect anything in the next month or two" Well.... I have about one month until my media room is finished. I've been waiting for some time, like the rest of you, for any type of announcement on a firm date for the release of the RMC. I had hope after the last podcast when Dan said, "...it's right around the corner." To me that means within weeks, yet the delays continue. I too called Emotiva a week or two ago and got a very vague sort of, "....when it gets here it gets here...." type of answer. For me the dilemma comes down to: 1. Do I continue to wait through the summer.... 2. Do I buy something cheaper (mc700) or something off Audiogon to hold me over until the release of the RMC 3. Do I go with the Marantz 8805, giving up two ceiling speakers and saving about $600 in the process. The problem with options 1 & 2? I know longer have a lot of faith the RMC even sees the light of day by the end of the summer. I gambled on the XMC last year, never opened it waiting for updates that never materalized and ended up selling it on Audiogon still in the original box for about $600 less than I paid.... The clock is ticking Emotiva......

Explain #3. The Marantz 8805 can do 7.1.6

Read post #407163 www.axiomaudio.com/boards/ubbthreads.php/topics/406839/3I read that post but I’m skeptical Atmos can actually simulate a better diffuse experience with monopoles than dipoles but that would be great if the case. I’ve only read that you’d have to fill a room with a lot of monopoles for the right effect like a movie theater but maybe their is something else that just hasn’t been implemented yet.. Which would surprise me because that would of been beneficial for last generation’s Dolby HD processors so why would it only be showing up now?

This sounds like confusing “diffusion” with the effect Atmos decoding has on the surround speakers to the ear, as opposed to conventional channels. Bill

By the way, this reminds me of a question I had regarding "cheating" a 7.1 setup. Currently I have a 5.1 setup and I really don't have the flexibility in my apartment to mount speakers behind my couch in my living room (nor Atmos Speakers on the ceiling, but that's a different issue). The surround speakers I have now are the old Emotiva ERD-1 dipole speakers. Looking at them, I was wondering if anyone makes surround/rear speakers that have two speaker wire inputs which might allow the rearward facing speakers to handle the "Rears", bouncing off the rear wall, and the forward facing the "Surrounds" for a semi-fake 7.1 setup. Something similar in concept to the "Atmos" speakers that people place on top of their Left/Right Speakers to bounce off the ceiling for a semi-fake 7.1."2" setup ... Or is this a hopelessly bad idea?
