Completely my fault: I was removing an RCA connector from the Amplifier Module connected to the Center Channel and it briefly shorted out the Center Channel Speaker terminals. No signal was currently powering the Center Channel but I presume this is what the manual refers to as a DC Load on the Speaker Outputs. The Blue LED went out associated with the Center Channel Amplifier Module, but the other 6 LEDs stayed on and no Red LED appeared. The rest of the modules worked fine till I turned the Amplifier off and it would never come back on again. Diagnostics so far: - Fuse #1 and Fuse #2 appear to be good. It's hard to see the filament but it looks intact. I guess I should use a Volt/Ohm meter to verify that ... Okay, that's done and it measures as close to a dead short across the fuses.
- Unplugged the Amplifier for 15 minutes and tried to turn it on again.
- Changed the Power Selector to Manual ("UP") and tried the Front Panel Power Switch
Any ideas? Obviously I'll call Emotive tomorrow to see what they recommend. I'm hoping that I can pull the Center Channel Amplifier out and diagnose that as the issue and then dive in further, but I'd like advice first before I make matters worse. Casey

(sigh) Work got in the way of me calling Emotive today.
I'm hitting the local crags tomorrow morning for some climbing, but when I get back I'll try sliding the Center Channel Amplifier Module (EPM-300) out and see if the MPS-1 will power up. If so, then I'll see if there are any fuses, etc. on the module, etc. Something tells me that Emotive probably doesn't have any replacements left ...

Well, after two days turned off, I powered the system back up again on Saturday and the entire MPS-1 came back on line. There doesn't appear to be any damage to it or the speakers ... I got lucky I guess! Now I can hold off getting a new amplifier till Emotiva develops a new one to go with the RMC-1 ... :-)
