I don't want to hijack thread but am in somewhat sane situation..right now listen to vinyl and computer. Where I diverge.. I have a vintage Sansui AU-919. I need a headphone amp to power my Sennheiser HD650s and would like a REMOTE CONTROL before my neighbors kill me..!! If the phono stage is better than my current one, major bonus but not a top priority. Would this be a good fit? Thanks!

Both have Full function remote control. The phono stage in both are excellent. They use the same one in all there gear. You would maybe want a separate headphone amp like there BasX A-100. It would provide volts that those are hungry for and make them come alive. Getting juice from two 50 watt 8 ohm channels for a headphone is old technology that made great headphone amps from old receivers.

The BasX A-100 is also on my list, its more appealing to me than a dedicated headphone amp which I personally believe is.....a waste of space and $$. Does it have a remote?

No the BasX A-100 does not have a remote. It is a analog only integrated amplifier for passive speakers with a headphone socket on the front of it. Absolutely you can use the A-100 for a stand alone dedicated headphone amp and never use the speaker terminals. The HD650 needs big power like a bottle head crack tube amp or Woo audio tube amp. The A-100 makes for a very high output headphone amp that competes with Schiit Audio and others for a very good amp for the HD650. Most headphone amps do not have enough power for the Senn's. You would get the TA-100 or PT-100 for a two channel for your computer , analog inputs and vinyl phono preamp in one box for a great price that includes a remote control for free. Later add the A-100 and use it for bookshelf speakers and headphones. Win win !
