I'm still trying to understand this thread.
1.) You bought a UMC-200 second hand on Ebay
2.) You waited more than 30 days to find it was not working properly
3.) You came to the Emotiva website forum to complain about how poorly manufactured your component was
4.) You ask for help diagnosing what could be wrong with it from helpful people in the forum itself
5.) Instead of taking action via Paypal you continue to b*tch here about how you were duped
6.) You now feel it would be a nice gesture for Emotiva to take a look and possibly repair your second or third hand broken piece of equipment.
Sounds like you put a lot of thought into this. Good luck with that!

I filed for a return on Ebay but I'm outside the 30 day window at this point. I seem to remember reading that eBay/PayPal was changing that up to 6 months instead of 30 days. It was one of the reasons I stopped doing business there, since God only knows what can happen in 6 months.

More bad news. Looks like the original owner fibbed and the warranty is out of date for transfer so, I'm on my own in that regard. I've had it for over a month so its probably been too long to fight with the seller, ebay and PayPal over it plus, I've obviously tampered with it with the F.W. update attempt. I've got a repeated "No DSP2 code!" error after any successful flash so the unit isn't retaining it. I find it hard to believe that it's hardware related as it didn't have THAT problem when I received it. Only manifested after F.W.update. Tech says this sounds like an issue that they have to fix. Shipping, plus $75 just to look at it and up to $250 for repairs and I'm sure shipping. On a unit I paid $400 for expecting no problems. On a discontinued model that sold for $500 originally. Awesome. Lesson learned. So anyway. I can't find them but I'm looking for the older firmware versions just for giggles. I figure it can't hurt to try. Anybody have any ideas? I honestly don't even know what the module is/represents and info seems pretty scarce. Are you sure this is out of warranty? I thought the UMC-200 had a 5 year warranty, and I don't think they have been out that long. I suggest a recheck on that...with Emotiva. UPDATE...looks like it was launched in fall 2012...Nov/Dec? If so, and it is 5 years, warranty applies. Check again with Emotiva. Second, you never did say why you messed with the FW in the first place. Was it not working when you got it or...what? Mark
