If you make abstraction of the horizontal or vertical use, I also said well designed center speakers are midrange focused , that's it.

For me and for a lot of people using big lcd flat panel display, vertical center speaker is not an option, we couldn't put a vertical speaker behind the screen, so for the majority of HT owners, having the horizontal center speaker is the only and better solution, and personally I think mine is doing a wonderful job for dialog with his two midranges drivers design.

Agreed, with a large center dedicated speaker and matching drivers oriented properly its very hard to beat the imaging and grand scale of the sound that is recorded. One of the most difficult speakers to design and implement because they are called on not only to give clear speach but sound effects and music. I've been through a few large dedicated speakers and there is no replacement for size or the engineering that goes into one. So, if Emo engineers have it right I say bravo. Hearing in real world environment is the only way to determine the quality of said speakers, and this only with soundtracks that you know inside and out. IE; have heard the sounds and tracks on many large center speakers. a Swiss Army knife may do the job but a dedicated tool will do it mush more efficient and do it better.

Ok ...err.. I guess we are saying the same thing then? This center channel side conversation got started when I was asked why I don't have a "regular" center, and my response was that those are compromised designed geared to sit under a TV, like you said you have. As I stated in the opening, I will have an acoustic screen, so I have no need to buy the compromised design of a speaker marketed as a center channel. In any case, and back to the topic, I believe I will go with the Stealth setup instead of the T2. Should be fun!

You're right and certainly can't go wrong with 3 Stealth 8 for LCR channels behind the screen.

frenchyfranky have you thought about the new T2 and C2 ? I know you love your speakers and I loved them also the times I heard them in Franklin TN. Yes I have heard them. They were bad ass. I kinda think this new setup may just be a whole lot better. Don't get mad. Get new stuff ! Not meaning you Frenchy. Cheers Frenchy ! I will resist. But I really like the new C2, I am waiting for the specs I bet it will sound good with your ERT-8.3.
