Outlaw's response to the Fortex question. -tm Weak - why wouldn't they be allowed to post here? Posters have to follow the rules of order, not where they are employed.

You have to realize a Dan "soon" isn't like a normal "soon". More like a dog-soon.

Everybody please remain calm. If you are concerned about your MC-700, please know that we are not going to stuff these down anyones throat. The issues that we have confirmed are all straightforward to resolve and will be addressed. We are working on this now. I'm going to extend the 30 day trial period to allow the firmware update to be implemented and tried out by our customers. I'm quite confident that you'll end up being very happy with the MC-700. In the meantime, please now that we are following up on all known issues and will have an update to your firmware very soon. Thanks, Big Dan Hey Dan there are a few requests for a list of the issues you are working on. It seems to me, it would make sense for you to let us know so we can either wait for the fix, or request an RMA and get on with our lives if you are not going to fix an issue important to an individual CUSTOMER. These "updates" are not providing useful information. And before anyone tells me to pick up the phone, I have.

Big +1 to that!
I've got my unit boxed up sitting in my garage and I change my mind almost daily whether or not to just take it down to UPS and have done with this. I must say that, although I came into this with a high opinion of Emotiva, I'm far from impressed with the lack of quality in evidence with the MC-700. There are *way* too many issues that should have been caught in in-house testing before the first unit ever shipped. I'd really like to see an acknowledgement that the issues important to me are recognized as problems and are being tackled.

Does anyone have any impressions on how it actually sounds? I received my MC-700 and an A-700 amplifier. It's set up in my home office. No 4K display here, so I'm having no OSD issues to note. I'm using stereo mode as my surround speakers and center channel arrive tomorrow, I'm currently playing flac with foorbar2000 and it's excellent. My only complaint is that the mode keeps changing from my choice of stereo to DolbyPLIIx. I see no way to lock in a particular mode for an individual input. Probably user error on my part. I have owned many Sound Processors (Denon, Rotel and Outlaw etc) before but this Emotiva MC-700 that I purchased recently was one of the BEST Processors. I am a basically a movie fun and use the Processor mainly for watching movies. After spending some time setting it up, I have to say I am VERY impressed with the sound quality of this product. The audio is crystal clear and I can hear lots of details from all my 5.1 speakers which I have never heard before in the past watching the same movies. I have to reiterate that and I am VERY VERY happy with this MC-700 Processor. A BIG THUMB UP to Emotiva - well done and keep up the good work! Just one more thing, my friends that came to my house to listen were all very impressed and jealous. When they returned home, they tried to re-tuned their system to match mine but told me, they couldn't and was rather disappointed. Heeeeee...........

There's been a lot of possible issues identified in this thread, but it is getting long and cumbersome to wade through all of the posts. Can we get a concise list of issues together for Emotiva to look at? Maybe you all could add to this list. Let's keep it to bugs only, and try to avoid mentioning design choices you disagree with. What I've noticed is:
Renaming inputs doesn't stick after a power cycle If a device switches between 2Ch PCM and Dolby Digital, I get some bad digital sounds out of the speakers while the MC-700 switches to DD

They say they have a list of bugs they have verified and are working on. Why they dont just publish that list is beyond me and IMHO a PR mistake. Publish the list and your customer/beta tester can then say: 1. Oh great, they are working on my issue. I will wait. 2. Ok they're hitting my real hot buttons and I can live with the others minor things. 3.I'm disappointed but I appreciate their honestly and being forthcoming. Can I get an RMA?

Renaming inputs doesn't stick after a power cycle If a device switches between 2Ch PCM and Dolby Digital, I get some bad digital sounds out of the speakers while the MC-700 switches to DD Add to that list:
1. Switch to an input and set the mode, switch to another input and then back to the first - mode of earlier selection is not what it was last set to. 2. Switch to a digital input and press Digital key until you see "Optical". Switch to an HDMI input and switch back to Digital - should go right to Optical but does not. (Not 100% sure on this one and my unit is boxed up ready to return to Emotiva so I cannot retest). 3. In addition to renamed inputs not being remembered after power cycle, there's a bug with the naming function that leave's a "0" to the right of the name in some cases. 4. One-half to one full second of content is dropped at the beginning of a CD.

The BTM1 and the MC700 do not like each other. BTM1 looses connection with source after a couple of minutes. BTM1 works with my laptop. The multiple sources I have tried have never had an issue with other BT devices. (eg JBL portable speaker, Rockfish BT receiver and Audioengine B1, etc)

What we have identified as actual bugs and not just user error or external equipment interactions are as follows.
Changing the "Return" to "Menu" to exit at the bottom of the menus.
The rename bugs
The ARC issue
The Bluetooth issues
Last used retention
That and the big code mod for EQ on all channels. But that will be a follow up later as it is a big deal.
That's it gentleman, will get these done very soon.
Best regards,
Lonnie

I can play blurays, cds on my oppo up-203 but I can't access the home menu and therefore any settings. Figured it out... if you set auto to resolution on color space the home menu won't display... it's an oppo issue.
The OSD/ menu only works when I start on hdmi 4-6. If I start the processor on 1-3, pressing the menu gives me a blank screen even if I switch to 4-6.
TV is a Vizio P65-C1

Any heat related problems out there? The MC-700 I bought and gave to my son has blanked out once due, we think, to heat. He has it in a rather large piece of A/Vfurniture, but behind glass. It is the only component in that section. We are buying a cooling fan to set on top of it. Hope this does the Job!

No heat issues here.

Mine is behind a door with my LPA1. The back is open and so far no heat issues.

I'm still getting the occasional nasty noises coming out of the speakers, and it seems to mostly be when one of my devices (Xbox360, Dish Network DVR, PS4) changes from 2 channel PCM to either Dolby Digital or DTS over HDMI. Makes me nervous to have the volume turned up when watching TV or gaming.

Wait... 2. Analog and optical? Duh ... not thinking straight when I wrote that ... obviously!
I meant to say digital (or is that input labeled coax - don't recall) and optical. When I spotted this possible problem, I was actually testing for something entirely different and noted it in passing. By the time I thought of going back to test this problem more thoroughly, I had already boxed the unit back for a return - that's why I'm not completely certain the problem exists.
Will try to go back and correct my earlier post. Thanks for the heads-up.
