My MC-700 is replacing a UMC-200. Hooking everything up was easy enough, and most of the UMC-200 remote codes work, like power and volume. But the MC-700 has more HDMI inputs than the UMC-200, and I'm using HDMI 4,5 and 6. The UMC only had 4 HDMI inputs, so no remote codes. Emotiva- how about submitting these remote codes to Logitech so I don't have to create a new device from scratch.
Thanks
Mel

It also seems the UMC 200 cycles through the inputs rather than going directly to the input like the MC 700. Although the UMC codes work for me for the most part (I'M JUST USING HDMI 1-4), it doesnt go to the correct input.

Are you not able to learn the codes with the Harmony?

Sure. But if you use the UMC200 template there are no references to the additional HDMI inputs. Much easier to have an up to date submission from Emotiva.

For now I have had the remote learn the new commands. I hope to have native support soon though.

I have the harmony one and just set up a new device. I checked off the Video-1 through video-6 buttons. took me less that 10 min to do. So far working great.

Are there any "hidden" commands? I know my Denon had a bunch of functionality that wasn't even on the remove.

Yeah, we definitely need discrete codes for all the inputs, especially the coax / optical digital inputs. I'm using both for audio-only sources.

I did the learning method, but the lack of discrete optical/coax input button is giving me fits. I didn't try the UMC200 template - does it have matching input codes for the two digital audio inputs?

FYI... just checked the Harmony database and it seems that MC-700 is now available. Have not had a chance to test it out; but all 6 HDMI, analog, digital and optical are available.

Excellent. To update the buttons does one need to remove and re-add the unit to my device list?

Great news!! I've just bought a harmony hub but I'm still waiting for my mc700 to arrive. All my other components are already in their database. Perfect!

Excellent. To update the buttons does one need to remove and re-add the unit to my device list? That is what I did. Went fairly quick, but I only have 5 or 6 activities that use it. Just had to go into each one of them and setup with the new MC-700 device. Still need to test it though, modified it from work

The optical code is not discrete - it seems it will just cycle through the digital inputs and sometimes will randomly end up on coaxial 1 etc.

At this point in time, IDK why any manufacturer doesnt have discrete codes for all inputs.

As someone who hasn't owned any other Emotiva processors or products, does the Harmony profile for their products give you Play/Pause commands that would be passed via HDMI-CEC to a chromecast? Anyone with experience with an MC-700/Harmony/Chromecast?

The optical code is not discrete - it seems it will just cycle through the digital inputs and sometimes will randomly end up on coaxial 1 etc. Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing. No excuse not to have published discrete codes for all the inputs. I bought a Harmony Elite to go along with the system upgrade to the MC-700, and this is making it a pain to use... I use both the optical and coax inputs all the time.
