If you're talking about bridging an XPA-2 to make it a mono-block, then these are the things to consider. It won't handle low impedances as well as an unbridged XPA-2. This will result in overheating and maybe signal distortion. You raise your noise floor in the signal to noise ratio. You lower your Damping factor. (Lose the ability for your amp to control bass frequencies as well.) XPA-2s do ok when bridged, but they are really designed to be used as two channel amps. But, if your talking about Vertical Bi-Amping, then that is another story. Thanks for all of the informative replies. Since using each XPA-2 as a monoblock will actually hurt the sound in my speakers, even though they are 8ohm, I was hoping for a way to use these two as monoblocks and get better sound. I used to own UPA-1's, sold them and bought the XPA-2, which I think was an upgrade, but it's all so subjective. Why did Emotiva have the monoblock option on the XPA-2 if it's not going to do anything but hurt the sound? I'm kind of confused on that. I could still change speaker cables and run all 4 posts from each speaker into the 4 outputs from each XPA-2. I would think, or guess more apt, that this would actually provide better sound to each speaker...

Bridging the amp would give you a lot of power on tap. But bridging the amp I believe reduces the impedance the XPA-2 sees hence its 8 ohm rating. An 8 ohm speaker I think shows up as 4 ohms. The XPA-2 is unoficcially stable to 2 ohm loads so you should be fine. How will it sound? I have no idea. But yeah your XPA-2 is better than the UPA-1 which I have heard.

The OPs speakers are 3 ohm MINIMUM. They are also listed as 90db sensitive. I think B&W calls for 200 watts max.
Bridging the XPA-2 is Not recommended for this speaker.
With crossover frequencies of 450hz and 4khz, biamping is OK since the low to mid / tweet frequency is near enough the 50:50 power point to give each side of a stereo amp a good workout.
What is the OP trying to accomplish? What is missing from the current setup? Do you have a 20 amp circuit so you can USE all tha power you think you are getting?

If you want mono blocks than buy the XPA-1 but you should be find just using one XPA-2. There's no need to biamp or bridge for those speakers. Save your money!!
