Ok, so I have the OPPO Sonica DAC now. My question is: would I connect to usp-1---> XPA-2 Gen-3, or straight into the XPA-2---> Speakers ? (I don't use a sub with my Cornwall's).

I would try both and try the one that you think sounds best.

The sonica is going back to oppo. It didn't best my 105. I cane see being a gret dac for a computer/headphone rig.

Well, someone will get a nice streamer/DAC with your finger prints all over it at a bargain price!

Don't really like the full digital volume control in this. As per the manual, the AUX analog input is digitized to serve other Sonica speakers in the network and then converted back to analog! What a waste. Rather prefer the pure analog path of DC-1 preamp coupled with SP-1 to expand the sources.

The OPPO site says that it will do DSD up to DSD512. But no mention of MQA. MQA is the only reason I would be interested an another DAC. I find my fully balanced XMC-1 quite sufficient. This is the DAC spec. When used as a stand alone streamer, it can handle only DSD64.
