So...who wants to explain this one? Audio is fine. Video is fine. But for some reason every now and then, this happens. A reboot fixes it - but that is quite annoying, and it of course triggers the UPA amps. Thoughts?

Nothing guys? I never would have dreamed that I'd stump the bright minds here. Did I set a new record?

The only thing we know from the OP is that he has a Sony PlayStation and UPA amps. Not a lot to go on...

I suppose that's right...the UMC pre-amps use the same OSD...my apologies. This is a Fusion 8100. Again, there's no rhyme nor reason as to when it does this. I don't know of any trigger that causes it. I guess I assumed since it was in the "receivers" section and Emotiva made only one receiver that'd be a given. At any rate. I'm still at a loss as what would cause this, and nothing that I do at that point will get the language variables to reset except power cycling. I guess it's a good thing I can pretty much navigate with the front panel, but still...it's a gamble.

I am not familiar with your equipment however I would check that there are no lose connections from the monitor out to yourTV or projector. It could very well be a cable issue or something bad with the monitor out section of your pre amp.

I'll double check this. I feel like the issue has existed before I switched cables last year, but my memory for everything not school hasn't been great lately (as you can see). It's been in to Emotiva for repair once (or twice) for work on the monitor section in the past, but for different issues. I'm still seeing if there's a trigger for it, that'd make diagnosing a whole bunch easier.

That actually sounds like a challenge! See who can provide less.

So, the issue seems to happen if a device connects to the amp via Bluetooth then shuts down without disconnecting (i.e. a computer). This seems to be the trigger for some god knows why reason. Pulling wires and swapping them seems to have nothing to do with it. I'm not sure why the bluetooth module would have anything to do with the video section. Rebooting the Fusion refreshes the display, but again...with the UPA amps being triggered each time, this is a real pain. I spose since it's not making the unit inoperable I don't need to send it in. But it is a curious issue. It passes video just fine, audio is fine, but for some reason bluetooth makes the OSD go haywire. P.S. Har har guys, you don't want my week so far.

A call to Emotiva is in order...never seen this one, and I have no clue!

Is the component causing the problem running Too Warm? Does it ever screw up when just turned on? Or after 15 or 20 minutes of use? Anything ELSE warming the receiver, like sitting on a warm-running component. Anything ELSE running too warm?
I see lots of images on these pages of STACKS of stuff which always gives me the 'too warm' vibe.

I have an AC Infinity T8 running on top of the Fusion. The temp generally hangs between 86 and 96, not too warm at all really. Heat isn't really an issue in this environment.

Fan blows air INTO the Fusion? From top to bottom? Which is the opposite way of convection? I think you may actually be restricting airflow. Where does the air you blow IN actually exit? Where is the temp measured? Do you have an IR camera, like my FLIR-ONE?
If the cooler sucks air up/out, than I doubt I have a case.
Man, I tell 'ya, the symptoms you describe sound heat related. Don't know why.
Does it ever malfunction when cold or within 10 minutes of being turned ON?

The T8 displaces heat to the rear of the stack, it's not blowing anything into the unit. I'm adding 3 F to the temp I'm mentioning because the temp is measured directly at the top of the AVR.
The issue can arise in any amount of time if a Windows Device is connected via Bluetooth and shuts down without being manually disconnected. I can kill my phone, and no problems...But god help me if it's my laptop.

AH! more facts!
I'm not computer expert, but THAT'S where I'd start. With laptop / drivers / and all the rest of the Windows Universe. I know stuff doesn't like being 'ejected' without following proper procudure.
Look for me on DeviantArt as 'MaxBeta'
The reason I asked about the fan is that people tend to MisUse them. Blowing air INTO a sealed or semi-sealed box is a No Go. Air is trapped, gets hot and doesn't GO anywhere.
The one time I built a fan for an amp, it was a Suck Thru type. Fan clipped on the back of the amp and pulled air thru the amp. I could redline amp ALL DAY and it would not get warm. That was into 83 or 84db sensitive speakers, and 4 ohm, at that. Amp was a Carver Cube which never got very warm, anyway.
