In a similar vain I have wondered why Emotiva have not released an XDA-3 with the DC-1 internals or utilised the Ego TI-BurrBrown implementation. Surely the XDA-2 is due for replacement and I believe that Emotiva need an X series DAC atheistically.
Cheers Gary

We have been discussing this for what seems like years now, but haven't heard anything, yet. Dan hinted a long time ago with a statement something like "be careful what you wish for...." that something was in the works, but nothing so far.

My money says Emo will release a full width XDA-3 ish DAC but maybe the upcoming streamer will also be a DAC?

You could go the other way and get the smaller components that match the DC-1.

That is the sole reason I have not upgraded from my XDA-2's. I can't stand the mini stature of the DC-1 and how it doesn't blend in with my present gear. I wonder if we will hear back...

I love the look of the XDA DACs. Great looking form factor. Just perfect imo. Also I prefer the silver.

I love big silver knobs on front, but when it comes to audio equipment, it's what's on the inside and the rear end that really count.
