I just ordered the XMC-1 ....
And was notified that it'll ship out in 10-12 business days !!! Mostly because the XMC-1 is "made to order".
I really don't understand how / why Emotiva doesn't have surplus of the XMC-1 now that the unit has been out for close to 3 years! This whole concept of "made to order" makes no sense. Everyone orders the same unit! There are no options to add-on / customize.
Just me ranting ... mostly b/c I would love to finally finish my HT ASAP. I do hope it was worth the wait

I do hope it was worth the wait Made to order is worth the wait, thats how my business is run. Why put manhours into something thats not bringing in money,,,,,today. Lots to do around there with all the new products they're working on. Same team may be in the middle of filling other order! Get um while they're hot!! Missallocation of resources is expensive. I have no insight but as a business owner this is my best guess. It is worth the wait. I ordered Dirac Live at the same time I ordered my XMC-1, that too was well worth the purchase. If I ever desided to sell ,,,,ha,,,,ha,,,,, I could offer it with Dirac LE in tact. While you're waiting it would be time well spent viewing the videos that show you all about the XMC-1 and Dirac. Enjoy!

Companies are killed by excessive inventory. Made to order for an amazing product like the XMC-1 is the way to go.

Why didn't you just order it 10-12 business days ago then? They had 1-2 business day when I ordered. The next morning it jumped to 10-12. I'm not complaining. Just anxious for it to arrive. That's all. p.s. Seems like the XPA amps are at 15 days waiting. Yikes!

Why didn't you just order it 10-12 business days ago then? They had 1-2 business day when I ordered. The next morning it jumped to 10-12. I'm not complaining. Just anxious for it to arrive. That's all. p.s. Seems like the XPA amps are at 15 days waiting. Yikes! Enjoy☺

I think it is more likely that they sold out of their inventory during the sale that just ended. I picked up my XMC from their offices in Franklin only an hour or two after calling them and telling them I wanted one.

FWIW, there must be something going on right now that's causing a backup. My son just sent in his UMC-200 (my former UMC-200) for repair and received an email stating that they've received his unit and the estimated turnaround would be 16-20 days due to a "busier than usual" situation. It very well could be that they've just received a boatload of MC-700's and " maybe" there's updated firmware to load into each unit before it ships. Since Emotiva doesn't employ an army of technicians, that, alone, could cause a backup. Keep in mind that my scenario is just a guess, but there certainly is a backlog of preordered MC-700's to fill. Now, in the case of your XMC-1, one might think that they simply assemble the unit, package and ship, but that's not how it's done. Each unit is hand assembled, burned in and then ran through a series of tests using their Audio Precision testing system. Once the unit passes QC, it's then boxed and shipped. Whatever the cause of your unusual delay, yes, the XMC-1 is definitely worth the wait...
