The biggest issues I ever had with Windows is with the system I had at work, in which my company required changes to Windows to meet their "requirements". This messed things up. Other than that, "it just works" at home.
My home stuff? It just works. Does it start up fine? Yes. Do updates get sent out and installed with minimum intrusion? Yes. Do they work? Yes. Do they offer different levels of cost/performance to keep costs low? Yes! Are the software and hardware variants mostly independent to allow a total low cost system? Yes.
Still not seeing any benefit to an Apple system that justifies the cost. Got a suggestion that works well without tradeoffs for less then $200?

I admit, the old Windows left a lot to be desired. I've been along the Windows journey since the first version. In my experience, since W8, the reliability took a huge step forward - even if the interface was initially junk. They fixed that quickly. And, with Windows 10, its taken a further leap forward in reliability as well as ease of use when adding new things or changing things. So, combining the now great ease of use, reliability, low cost, and an interface I love (I actually really do not like the Apple interface and find it confusing)... If for some reason in the next heat wave, your Mac get taken out - consider Windows again. I think you will find a refreshing change from 2012.
