This the latest Alien movie and I can say as soon as it hits blu ray status I will be getting a copy. The store line is good but I was disappointed that they did not continue with the engineers. Don't want to be a spoiler so I will keep it simple. The characters I believe were better in this movie than Prometheus but there are questions as to where this I'd going which by the end of the movie it has you wondering. Very much and action sci-Fi movie. Ridley Scott did a great job. The creature is more real than ever before. Sound and speacial effects are without imperfection. It took five years from Prometheus to Covenant I hope it's not another five before the next Alien sequel... I want to be alive.

A wickedly awesome movie. Very fast paced and interesting throughout - with great action scenes, sound, twists, and superb special effects. Joins Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as one of my two favorite movies thus far this year. Will also be getting this on 4k disc when it's released.

Ridley Scott is unstoppable.
He's going to 80 soon and obviously not slowing down.

The store line is good but I was disappointed that they did not continue with the engineers. They caved to those that hated Prometheus. I wish they didn't but the haters got their action movie. Now I really like Prometheus and Aliens so this movie could have been both. ...still liked it though.

Thought I might croak before THIS one finally got out there. Bill "Yea...i am what the young of today label me as OLD HEAD! haha" Lol....Anyway gonna see "Covenant" sometime this week. Alien (saw it in the theater in 1979) was a uniquely disturbing film at the time and changed Sci Fi forever. I enjoyed all the Alien installments (predator too) that followed, but all were a waiting game for Ridley Scott to put the engineer back in the drivers seat. And so, Prometheus instantaneously became my second favorite Alien 👽 flick. So far from what I've heard and read, the new one will follow in order, even though the storyline may not have gone quite the way I hoped. (Perhaps better!) Bill

I enjoy science fiction movies. However, I didn't enjoy Alien and haven't watched the sequels other than a snippet here and there.
In my mind I categorize it more as a horror movie rather than science fiction and I've never been a fan of horror movies.
My opinion sounds strange to some and if you are an Alien fan, no offense intended. Just my personal take.

The first Alien movie absolutely is a horror movie, just in space. The second is essentially a war movie...in space. The third...isn't all that great. The fourth...we shall not speak of the fourth movie. I enjoy science fiction movies. However, I didn't enjoy Alien and haven't watched the sequels other than a snippet here and there. In my mind I categorize it more as a horror movie rather than science fiction and I've never been a fan of horror movies. sci·ence fic·tion ˈsīəns ˈˌfikSHən/ noun "noun: science fiction; noun: SF; modifier noun: science-fiction; noun: Sci Fi; plural noun: Sci Fis fiction based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes, frequently portraying space or time travel and life on other planets."
Interesting.....I never gave any real thought to what constitutes the term in the minds of others....so I looked it up, Even the dictionary has more than one connotation for the phrase. Note this one says nothing about Aliens doing what they do best........Lunch.

Y'all, I went and saw this movie. And I don't know what...I've seen every alien (and predator) movie. But this one, late in the night in the movie theater had me very unerved and shaken. I think my heart was beating fast all the way back home!! Damn! And it didn't really have HUGE movie sequences like the queen alien coming after the predator or something. But there was something simply scary, claustrophobic. Also of course the special effects were great and so was the android. I don't know if it's a great movie but it certainly accomplished what it went for!

My daughter April, a huge "Alien" fan to the point where she has a very detailed tattoo of the xenomorph the covers her left calf, says this movie sucks. So to each their own.

Correct to each their own but the movie is a continuation of characters that are new to the series...The xenomorph was the most realalistic in all of the series. The characters were close to the originals as far as being believable. Was it the best....not at all but definitely worthy of the Alien logo. Watching it on blu-ray at home in MY THEATER will be a treat... Sigourney Weaver is supposedly making a comeback as RIPLEY...using CGI. I liked Alien Covenant and I hope to live long enough to see the completion of the story and answers to many of the questions unanswered.
