Does anybody here know how long a 22 AWG RCA cable run, from USP-1 to XPA-2, I can use before any sq degradation occurs? Would I be better off running longer speaker wires? I appreciate any responses.

Hi George - I've run inexpensive 22 AWG interconnects for up to about 15 feet. No audible issues. In general, I'm more in the camp of "longer interconnects & shorter speaker wires" rather than the opposite. But your gear, your choice. If cash is the limiting factor, visit www.monoprice.com and bask in their inexpensive goodness. Want something better? Visit www.bluejeanscable.com and be wowed by their welded terminations. There's also a contingent here that would encourage you to get a soldering iron & make your own interconnects & speaker cables. Good options, all. Boomzilla

Thanks Boom, I'm actually looking at an approximate run of 30-35 ft., hence my concern and, yes, Monoprice is a vendor on my short list. Also, Mediabridge, a company local to the Philly 'burbs where I reside, and whose products I've been very happy with in the past, has a presence on Amazon. All cables will be sealed into a finished ceiling, but I'm considering (over thinking?)running them through 2 inch pvc piping, to provide access in case of failure. The thought has occurred to me to split the difference/distance and use a 15' interconnect and 15' speaker wires. Any thoughts with regard to such a solution?

16 ga. lamp cord is cheap. Use it for interconnects?
In fact, I've got a big reel of it here that I'll give you if you'll pay postage.

Thanks for the offer and the link to Blue Jeans, Boom. I spoke with the electrician who configured my media room and he informed me I have a 20 amp circuit I had previously assumed was 15 amp. Using this will allow me to use much shorter BJC LC-1 Stereo Audio Cables as well as BJC Ten White Speaker Cable.
