Just received my upgraded XPA3. Paid $850, which his $200 per module, plus $50 freight. Very excited to receive. Opened the box, looked at the rear... and have 5 modules. Received the new shipping label from Emotiva to start the near 3 week process of having it upgraded, again. They may provide expedited return shipping (vs ground). As I was wrapping the amp to put back into the box, I saw the label on front was changed from THREE... to FOUR. Emotiva, please return my amp with 7 modules and a SEVEN label on the front. Thank you. Ron

I feared this crap would happen. So many elements of confusion in the whole "send your amp back to us for an update" thing...sorry to hear about this. i would get on the phone with Emotiva promptly, they will take care of you....I hope.....

I called immediately, thus my emailed shipping label. What more can they do? I asked for freight that was faster than ground, as that takes 2 weeks (in California). She said she couldn't do anything for freight back to them, but *maybe* on the return.
How in the world does a FOUR end up on the amp? Did the person putting it on even look at the rear of the amp to see how many modules it had? I just don't know.

My strongest message to the gal I spoke to was, communicate this mishap to the correct person(s) so that the process can be improved. There's no need for this to happen.

Seems to me they added a channel and took your amp from three to four channels...unfortunately if they charged you for four additional modules with the $850 bill it should have been straightforward that you wanted an additional four channels added. I would not accept me paying for any further transport costs of the amp. F'd up...

Except mine was returned with 5 modules, not 4. Just shaking my head.
All in all, I remain a fan of Emotiva. I have two XPA-1Ls, this XPA5 (should be XPA7) and the XMC-1. I'm a fan because of the high value of their products, and, to date, their service is excellent.
BUT, one of the XPA-1Ls has failed... twice. Same one. Shouldn't have failed a second time once it was returned to Emotiva for repair. Now this.
But I'm still on board, still a fan. I know they're doing their best, and I'm sure the guy(s) responsible didn't do it on purpose.
But, please guys (at Emotiva), pay attention to your customers' equipment.

How about they ship out a new XPA-7 and you can cross-ship yours back?
Would save weeks of waiting.

That sounds frustrating but this appears to be a problem that Emotiva can solve for you albeit additional frustrating waiting time while they get your amp back for service. There's nothing we can do here other than tell ya you have my sympathies!

Can't they send you a new label with the right number? I don't know how easy or difficult that is to change since I don't own one myself.
Still strange they want you to pay shipping back to them, don't pay that.

Well, not sure if Emotiva read this thread or had the idea themselves, but I received an email that they are sending me an XPA-7 G3 today.
Very good, Emotiva. You have made amends. I thank you, and remain a loyal customer.

It's what a good company would have done to make ammends for their mistake and it's good to see that Emotiva is one of them. The mistake should not have happened but they made the best ammends they could. Ads could not buy this kind of credibility or good publicity. Only real works can. Well done!

Big thumbs up to Emo on this one. Mistakes happen, and will happen again, but they handled it very well.
You'll need to add some pics of your new XPA-7 in your setup...
