I've replaced a 10 year old Sony KDL-52XBR5 with a XBR65X900E. After connecting to my UMC-200 whichever port I plug into on the TV from the processor gets a mostly pink video screen. It had always worked perfectly with my old XBR. I've tried re-seating cables and power-cycling, but still the same. I don't want to by-pass the processor because I won't see the processor's menu when I need it. Any ideas how to fix the problem?

I've replaced a 10 year old Sony KDL-52XBR5 with a XBR65X900E. After connecting to my UMC-200 whichever port I plug into on the TV from the processor gets a mostly pink video screen. It had always worked perfectly with my old XBR. I've tried re-seating cables and power-cycling, but still the same. I don't want to by-pass the processor because I won't see the processor's menu when I need it. Any ideas how to fix the problem? The pink screen is almost always an indication of an HDMI handshake error. To troubleshoot this, turn off all of the devices in your HDMI chain and turn off the UMC-200 using the main power switch on the back of the unit. Wait five minutes, then turn the switch back on (still leaving everything off including the UMC-200). This will purge the UMC-200 of any "stored" EDID information. Then, turn on your display first (wait a few seconds for it to "listen" for a source device), then power up your UMC-200 (wait until it fully boots), then turn on a source device. This should "force" a new handshake. If this works, however, you will only get (at most) 1080p HD resolution on your brand new 4K UHD display. Since the UMC-200 is not HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compatible (and cannot pass through 4K UHD sources that require HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2), 4K UHD is not possible. Once you move up to UHD sources, you will face one of two options... either bypass the UMC-200 for video (and lose your OSD) or upgrade to a newer HDMI 2.0 a compatible processor (like the MC-700) or an HDMI 2.0 b compatible processor (like the upgraded XMC-1). Hope this helps...

Agree with Doc as I sometimes get a Green screen with my MC-700 but it goes away by toggling between inputs. Also, what kind of cables are you using? The new TV might be more sensitive to older/lower quality HDMI cables.

Thanks Doc and rbk for the comments. I'll try clearing the EDID info and try again.

Interesting. I'm having an issue with my UMC-200 also. I have an Nvidia shield I use for streaming apps. If I leave it sit and the screensaver goes on I get a total blue screen. I can get the image back. I figured it was the Nvidia, but changing inputs doesn't work either. All blue screens.
This was on my old Panasonic 720P plasma. I've since moved it back down to my XMC-1 again where I've never had the problem even using the same HDMI cable. I would have to turn the UMC-200 off and back on again. Seems like a handshake issue maybe.
