NOTE: The part of this thread that drifted over to solar power has been moved to the Green Room The new thread there is called: "Solar Power - is it really worth it?" I was wondering where that came from out of the blue. Now I know.

100% Agree. But it must be said that the ILLUSION of all that power is what drives many to that purchase. Many would be better served by a lesser-powered amp which would meet spec from a 15 amp service. But I will say again, Yes, it is rare to the point of Never Happening (except on a test bench) that full-power would be required from ALL SEVEN channels at once. Can you imagine how loud that would be? Or potential cost of Damaging your speakers? And than? Most testers will use a High Current Variac to stabalize line voltage to whatever they think is the 'nominal value'. Trying a full-power test at home will 'SAG' a 15 amp line badly. Let do it, I will know you are testing when the grid collapses 😂😂 This happened in my neighborhood last Christmas: www.youtube.com/watch?v=inWKw8nqQlI

The XPA-3 arrived today. So far my impression is very positive. I've listened to several different genres of vinyl music at pretty high volume and it has performed very well. I'm just about to pop in a couple films and see how it does on that side. Very well packed and packaged. It reminded me of the way the Oppo players come but nicer. Great to see that attention to detail when dealing with small companies. It's just fluff but it does give you a good impression when you open the box. The birth certificate is an especially nice touch 🙂👍

jgun64, just checking up on you and your new amplifier. I am enjoying my XPA-5, now 7 months old. Do hope you're as pleased as I am. Regards, Jeff
