I hope that's IT! I hate it when that happens.
The 'bass test' should be in everyones bag of tricks when doing an initial setup.

Remember on the XPA-1, the negative speaker wires and positive speaker wires are on opposite sides of the amp, not on top of each other. They can be hooked up to bi-amp which is why there are two negative and two positive binding posts on the rear.

Yet another way to Mis-Wire!
many decades ago, I experimented with the Original surround sound, than called 'Quadraphonic'. The trick? Wire the back channel speakers from Positive to Positive which is all the out of phase information. It worked very well with live music but very poorly with studio stuff where the ambiance was simply not part of the mix.
you can only do this wiring with a COMMON GROUND amp where the negative terminals are ground. IOW? Do NOT attempt with a balanced amp where you have a floating ground with a postive and a negative voltage rail.

So what I'm doing to do is get 1 speaker. example left speaker and go at the back where the speaker terminal and switch the speaker wire where normally connected and swith it. Example negative black speaker wire to positive speaker post? Is that how suppose to do? Won't damage the speaker or the amp xpa1?

Signal from amp is AC and 'polarity' is for phase only. Not that you could tell if BOTH speakers were +- swapped at the same time. No standards exist in the recording studio.
But swap ONE? Several audible effects possible from loss of bass to imaging.

Not that it matters, but I really HATE that speaker terminal arrangement on the XPA-1

Not that it matters, but I really HATE that speaker terminal arrangement on the XPA-1 It sure makes it hard to find production speaker cables with that spread. I use Monoprice 12 gauge so I don't have a problem but my Emotiva speaker wires don't reach.

I just make a little adjustment on my speaker wire since I have a bare wire(diy) Neotech 3004 together with Audioquest type 4. Thank you again guys.
By the way I just want to know if any of you own the XPA1 amp. Are you leaving it on all the time? If yes, do you think it will effect the performance in the long run?
