Also.... Since the inputs are not truly balanced on my XPA-5, is there any benefit to switching over to XLRs? I have older but very good Tara RCAs.

So my original was able to be used when I reluctantly sold it! Just my two cents, enjoy! I know I have in the past,,,,,,and will again. 🎶👍😁

Buy the Full version of Dirac, it's fun to play around with the curves and to see if you can tailor it to your liking. Chad

But then I see myself upgrading quickly.

"Since my current set up is silent, I'll see how they sound before changing anything. Thanks" Smart move.....if there is no hum or noise now, you don't need an XLR connection. I'm in my third year running a nice high quality set of RCA with the XMC and there is absolutely no sound whatsoever but music. More often than not, hum in the system comes from a ground loop rather than the connection type. Bill

Congrats on the XMC-1!!!
I replaced my B&K prepro with the XMC-1 and it was major game changer to my rig. I'm using short RCAs throughout with zero hum; buy XLR if you don't have interconnects to eliminate your concern. Then, as an early XMC-1 adopter, DIRAC Live LE became available and the sound got better. From there I purchased DIRAC Live FULL and the sound became more personalized as I slightly adjusted the sound to my liking. Lastly, I purchased a calibrated microphone and a microphone boom stand for consistent measurements. It's important to note that months went by between each step of audio awesomeness. My next purchase will be the new V3 HDMI Board. Enjoy your XMC-1, it's a game changer right out of the box.

Got the XMC-1 installed and sounds fantastic on vinyl and blurays. I have an issue though. I have no Ethernet access downstairs where the prepro resides. Is there any other way to get access to the XMC-1? It kinda make Dirac a bit difficult to run...

The bridge plugs into the XMC with Cat5 and the bridge communicates wirelessly to your wireless router.

Is there any other way to get access to the XMC-1? It kinda make Dirac a bit difficult to run... The newer Powerline Ethernet adapters are also a great alternative to wireless. The must plug directly into a wall outlet (no power strips, surge protectors or extension cords), so you must have an open wall outlet within reasonable proximity to both your router and your XMC-1. Some have AC pass-through, so you don't necessarily waste an outlet. I've used them for various purposes and they work great...
