Hello,
I placed an order for my new XMC-1 a few days before I found out that I have to go out of town for a week so, I called to check shipping status. The very helpful lady I spoke with told me it was "in production" and she was was able to delay shipping to a specific date for me. (I'll be off work for seven days to play with my new toy)
My question is about "in production". I'm curious about exactly what that means. Surely, you guys have these units assembled, right? How much of the unit is produced after the order is placed? Are they just doing bench testing and firmware updates? I'm just trying to visualize the process to have a better understanding.
Thanks, David

Cool stuff. Good also to know I won't have to spend time loading firmware because the unit hasn't been sitting around in a box. Fresh off the griddle. ;-)

Still no info about the xmc-1 I ordered in first week of September. No info if it has already been made or shipped or whatever. I made the reservation not thru emotiva instead I used a international reseller. I assume orders coming from the US are first served?

Is this the model you ordered? If your international, thats what id be waiting for. Im in the US and will be ordering either that or a first quarter RMC-1.

It's all my fault. They originally announced the RMC (and hence the XMC Atmos upgrade) would be available by October/November. I thought "great, just in time for my birthday, what a great gift," because it really is ALL ABOUT ME. Well, things have been slow at the office, and I really didn't have the funds for the upgrade, and the additional amp and speakers when my birthday rolled around.
Things have improved, and there will be cash available come December/January. I know it seem coincidental that that time frame seems to agree with when we should start seeing the RMC and the XMC Atmos upgrade, but, again, it's really all about ME.
You guys better just hope I don't have any other big expenses come up in the next two months.

It was my understanding that they weren’t producing any more XMC-1s with HDMI 1.4, and that no more would be produced until the 2.0b Board was available (you’ve read above when that might be). Maybe there’s some stock in the system somewhere, or some other information available, but the horses mouth is the best place to find out about that.

Two posts ago you stated you ordered through an international reseller, have you contacted that reseller? While I don't work for Emotiva, I'm pretty sure your reseller is your point man for any and all questions regarding your order through his business. What was his answer for said delay?

This is incorrect. They are still selling with the original HDMI board, but the sale price includes the HDMI board upgrade when available, provided you pay full price.
