Emotiva please look into this! The Transformative Engineering HDS-42AVR 4 in/2 out HDMI SwitcherEmotiva should work a similar deal to what Outlaw Audio is doing with the TE HDS-42AVR 4K/UHD Switcher for existing XMC-1 owners. This is the most cost effective bridge for Emotiva owners that have gone 4k since the full HDMI XMC board remains MIA. Note the remote code customizations as well. Something to consider. -CB

At the special price of $179, it should make the current owners of the 975 very happy... To all who may not know what this is, HERE is a link.

Transformer Engineering also sell a universal model, it just has its own remote for changing sources. Cheers Gary

If Emotiva isn't up for the challenge, maybe we could put together a group buy. There must be 20 or more people here that would go for this and would appeal to the manufacturer?

I can get another brand 4 (in) x 2 (out) 4K switcher locally for $A129 (about $US100). The Outlaw version has the advantage of not needing its own remote, as it switches via the Outlaw remote, possibly using CEC. To achieve the same would need Emotiva to talk to them about how to achieve the one remote solution (how to get them talking).
Cheers Gary

I just did a pretty extensive google and could not find any that supported HDR! -CB

If the Emotiva board won't be available for another few months then I'll buy one. $179 is a steal

I haven't been able to find any streaming content at 50 or 60 hz as yet to test it at the higher rates. The 2 x HDMI outs on Sony BD 4K are respectively plugged directly into the Samsung TV (which doesn't do Dolby Vision of course) and the UMC-200. They are apparently waiting for the certification to come through then they can say that it does (sound familiar). Cheers Gary

If its the Ezyhd or cablechick one Gary there both specced hdmi 1.4 and 300mhz not 600 I see . But if it passes hdr10 that means its 2.0a 18gbps compliant . Is it Keiths model [ezyhd] your using ? This sounds like using a 4x2 matrix switcher with the umc200 again ; completely deja vu

While we continue to wait for 4K HDR video board from Emotiva, I have continued to refine my XMC-1 to Samsung 4K setup.
I have an Oppo 203 and I just noticed that with a firmware update in September that the HDMI In on the Oppo now supports HDR. So, I decided to re-route my Roku Ultra 4K through the Oppo. It involves a bit of switching to get to the Roku input on the Oppo, but I automated it with MyHarmony Hub. It works quite well and I think is workable for the time being. Now I also am able to get DolbyDigital Plus audio out of the Roku instead of the vanila Dolby Digital I was getting by direct connecting to the Samsung and running an optical cable back to the XMC-1.
I will really have to think about whether the new video board is a cost effective upgrade? If it is not field upgradeable, it really dampens the enthusiasm. Being without my XMC-1 for a couple of weeks would be unbearable! Also, there are more updates down the road such as updates to ARC that will pass more audio codecs, etc. And of course there is ATSC 3.0 on the horizon and on an on.

Thanks Big Dan for the updates on the last Podcast. The V3 HDMI Board is completed and should be ready for shipping first week of January and for everybody first week of February. It supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 dynamic modes. emotiva.com/latest/
