Absolutely. There was a specific bias issue with certain A-5175 amps; and, if you have one that gets very hot, then it most certainly should be fixed. (This issue was unique to the A-5175 - and only certain units experienced it.) Then I must have misunderstood hilodb1 when he said his A-500 was in for service as well. Must have been for something else. I never found out what was wrong with my A-500 as Emotiva never fixed it. Instead I was sent a replacement refurbished unit and no one ever contacted me to let me know what the problem was with my original amp. The symptoms of my original A-500 were very similar to the A-5175 although I did not notice any abnormal overheating. I did get severe static coming from multiple channels after the unit had been running for an hour or so. When initially turned on there would be zero hint of static. The replacement I have now works like a charm and the noise floor is basically nothing.
