So I just got a BasX S8 for work to go with my existing powered Airmotiv 4s speakers. It's running off a Shiit Fulla2 DAC off my work computer (I develop software for a living) so I don't have a separate LFE output. It took me a while to dial the S8 in just right, but now I have done so this thing is *amazing*. Tight, clean elegant bass that seamlessly melds with the Airmotiv 4s's. It just makes the speakers sound as though they're full tower, low bass extension without any "flub" noises (sorry for the technical term :-) that you can get off cheap subwoofers designed for computer speakers. I just ran the output of the DAC into the 'in' left and right channels on the S8, then passed through the 'out' connectors to the 4s's.
If you've got Airmotiv powered speakers, you owe it to yourself to test with a BasX sub paired with them. The combo sounds incredible. Highly recommended. I can't believe the S8 is only $200.
I'm a very happy customer ! :-).

Your experience matches mine I'm quite happy with the S8. The only thing I noticed is that it starts to break up quite quickly at moderately loud levels (perhaps my room is too big for the sub or I'm sitting in a bit of a null space, but don't have much choice at the moment). Before that point, it is quite amazing though.

As I'm at work I can't turn the volume up that much (even though I'm in a private office with padded walls - not a mental asylum, an old phone room :-). I haven't heard any break up at reasonable volume levels. What I love is how it merges with the existing speakers - it really is seamless, just extending the range down deep !

I also really appreciate mine running in 2.1 setup with Bas-X sat and TA-100 receiver and I really think that this kit is the one to have in this price range, unbeatable.

Absolutely. They clearly designed it first and foremost to sound good, they didn't try to make it punch above it's weight and then end up compromising the sound. It's very well done. I'm thinking of purchasing a second. I too never reach volumes loud enough to distort it in every day listening.

Yup, definitely the best $200 I've ever spent on audio gear.
