I was having issues with DTV DVR's, so DTV sent out the new Genie II. Genie II consist of 1 main unit and Minis for each room. Now I'm more p.o, it's giving me more problems than running 2 DVRs- 1 Genie I DVR & 1 HD DVR. Before I would get pink video out of the UMC-200 & freeze up and need to reboot. With the Genie II, I'm having even more problems. I have tried using both the UMC & Integra to process and have major lipsync issues and audio drop outs after rewinding a program. The Genie locks up frequently. DTV just "upgraded" their software and the new menu format sux. Anyone else using Genie II, having issues?
I'm about ready the cut the cord forever- getting too expensive & too unreliable. We have had DTV since the first year it came to market, over 20 yrs ago.

I would call and talk to one of the Emotiva tech guys - I was having similar issues when I "upgraded" to the Genie II receiver. In my case, whenever I powered up or changed channels, the video switching would have trouble with the handshake and eventually the sound would come on, but no picture. I sent the unit in for a new power supply upgrade (free under warranty) and they think that should fix the issue. Will let you know when I get the unit back. Best of luck!

I have the UMC-1 but had annoying hdmi sync issues with DirecTV. Switched to Xfinity X1 platform. No issues. The DirecTV boxes suck for HDMI lock. I think they blank output on changes and with Emo box force rehandshake.

Try hooking up a powered HDMI switch to keep it locked on... worked for me on my UMC-1 and a Dish Network DVR that would update every night and loose the handshake. Just put the switch between your DVR and UMC-1. You're not switching anything (use just 1 input on the switch)... just using it to keep the HDMI handshake.
