I had to turn off the UI navigation clicks in the Apple TV settings because it causes a strange audio "pop" to happen with the XMC-1. I have tested this using the following methods: ATV --> XMC-1 --> TV ATV --> TV --> XMC-1 (ARC)
Both have the same issue. See the video link (and turn up the volume).

No issue here.
I don't hear any more than the standard UI click from the Apple TV.

Known issue, no fix coming. Maybe a future hardware update, but it seems endemic in Emotiva processors. Search using terms like digital silence, click, pop for the zillion threads.

Thank you for sharing this info. I read through all the other forum posts and it's honestly disappointing to hear that this won't be fixed. I use my Apple TV for 95% of my viewing/listening and the audio pop makes for a very frustrating and annoying experience. If there was option to replace the DSP board (even for a modest fee) I would happily jump on that.

If so, the board will certainly be changing, along with video with the HDMI 2.0b board.

No issue here. I don't hear any more than the standard UI click from the Apple TV. Same here. From what I've read it seems like enabling Dirac makes the issue much more noticeable. Are you using Dirac? And yes, at some point I do plan to upgrade to the Atmos board. Do we know that this version of the DSP will fix the issue?

Yeah, I've definitely noticed it more when Dirac is on. The problem source for me is blu-ray menus. I've kept TiVo menu noises disabled since well before my XMC-1 and don't notice issues with the NVidia Shield.
Every time this comes up, a bunch of people come out and say it works perfect for them. That's great for them, but we've never discerned any pattern that helps those that have problems.
I've never seen any comment from Emotiva staff that indicates a fix in future hardware. I think it's just wishful thinking. However, I'd be surprised if things didn't at least get a little better with newer hardware. If for no other reason than faster processing.

I seem to remember KeithL explained the situation as being actual internal chip coding and wasn't something that Emotiva had any control over, so most likely a the new Atmos/DTS:X board with newer/latest chips would most certainly produce a different outcome.

This is the wrong place to ask but I didn’t see a help thread for the ATV 4K.
When i set my Apple remote to control my Yamaha Receiver and try to use it the system goes to Airplay and the movie is gone! 😲
Help please, not sure whats going on.

It would be cheaper to dump the Apple TV and move on to something else that is frustration fee. Just my 2 cents..............YMMV

Just my 2 cents..............YMMV My mileage definitely has varied, as so far it has surpassed any of the previous FireTV's I've had, though I still hate the remote that comes with the AppleTV(my Harmony easily makes up for this though).

I am an electrical engineer for Apple working on the Apple TV. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out if this was an Apple issue and worked with our internal teams before posting this issue here (knowing it was an Emotive problem, at this point).

Apple has had some quality control issues for the past few years......
I no longer own any Emotiva products for the same reason.
I guess for you the bottom line is keep the Apple TV and try another processor that plays nice with it....
Let us know what solution you choose.

I don’t use my Apple TV in my main set up, but the Airplay function of my new Marantz works flawlessly via Mac book, iPad and iPhone.
