I want to use the 8 analog channels as an audio source for HDMI videos, without it undergoing ADC. Is it possible? Today, with HDMI Input, if I set 'Direct Mode' the Subwoofer channel is disabled. What would be the case with the Analog EXT (7.1) Input? I plan to purchase an 8ch DAC and connect it to the UMC, so if the Analogs will be converted (ADC) internally in the UMC-200 that would negate my intentions. For clarification - I don't use any of the UMC-200 DSP's functions including Bass Management. I do everything on the PC and output it as PCM to the UMC's HDMI input. I hope I could output it as PCM/DSD to the 8ch USB DAC and from there to the Analog EXT input of the UMC without further processing (perhaps except for volume) and specifically without ADC. *Splitted from this thread: emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/52188/umc200-analog-hdmi-direct-exasound

UPDATE: Answer from Keith in the original post is that the 7.1 Analog input of the UMC-200 is always in "direct mode", with no ADC.
