Oh well my A300 is here, unfortunately I’m away for 3 days on a flight. I’m a pilot by profession btw.
Super excited. I told my dealer to burn in the amp for me for a couple of days. He’s a good friend and has gladly accepted my offer since he is now the official dealer of Emotiva in my area after this purchase.
I’m still playing around with my sub. My wife thinks I’m nuts doing sub crawls and fiddling with wires. In between a movie i keep fiddling with the settings on the amp and she gets really mad lol 😝

You might want to send her and a couple of her frinds to a movie while you fiddle around?

Finally got my amp today. Oh boy am I in love!
The packaging is solid cardboard. The amp was inside in a nice black kind of cloth for protection. It's exactly 17 inches in width. Weighs about 11.5 kgs. Guess what? My marantz SR6009 (functions as my preamp) is also 17 inches and weighs the same! Coincidence?? NOT!
Feels solid and heavy. Finishing is top quality. Running the amp for 3 hours continuously and it's cool, forget warm. It's just cool. Ofcourse I was listening to music and watching TV at moderate home volumes so maybe that's why.
It's connected via preout from my SR6009 and a trigger. Which means, when I put my marantz off, the emotiva goes into standby mode. I like that.
First impressions of sound. Music. Familiar to my ears kind of music. There is a marked difference which my old ears can make out. Firstly vocal was deeper and chestier. Sounds from small instruments like guitar and violin are more pluckier. Maybe it's just a psuedo effect. I don't know. We heard the same songs again without the amp. The reference volumes were the same. No difference in loudness. But now, without the amp, the music sounded flatter. It's a very tiny and subtle difference which can be made out on familiar songs. Otherwise one can't make out the difference.
Movies. I don't know. I haven't gone crazy loud volumes. Can't really make out much difference. Will chuck a Blu-ray and update.
Cheers guys. It’s a very good product for the price I must say.

Hello good people. I have made a few changes to my system since my last post. I have bought a new Yamaha Aventage 1070 to pair with the Emotiva.
But the biggest change I made was to my speakers. So, after reading plenty of reviews, I went ahead and bought a beautiful pair of tannoy revolution XT8F! Oh boy do they sing! I can’t wait for them to burn in a lil bit. The synergy between the amps and the speakers is so beautiful! Just wanted to share my happiness with you guys.

Tannoy makes some surprisingly good speakers. Glad that the OP is enjoying his new gear. deepee says: "My wife thinks I’m nuts doing sub crawls and fiddling with wires. In between a movie i keep fiddling with the settings on the amp and she gets really mad." NOT a trivial thing (nor a funny one). Bring wife into the loop with explanations or risk future animosity here. If the "sub crawl" is a one-time event (and it should be), make that clear to her and include the fact that the new stereo isn't an overwhelming obsession, nor will it compete with your dedication to her. Wife resentment about your hobby is a BIG red flag. Nip it at the bud.

Wife resentment about your hobby is a BIG red flag. Nip it at the bud. Minor disagree with Boom. First? Women are generally disinterested in the minutia of setup or minor movements of speakers and such. EXCEPT when it interferes with the 'decor' in a perceived negative fashion. Next? A sub crawl has a small learning curve and you MIGHT need to repeat 2x or 3x until familiar with the technique and what you can expect. Finally? Last studio I was in, a VERY well equipped, in-home and quite dedicated space, was equipped with Tannoy Speakers. A small pair and a larger pair. Nice 'system' for the projects at hand, at least one of which I think won a Grammy in a very obscure category. It was a recording of a college or high school orchestra or some such. 20+ years ago, IIRC. As for #1, above? I would PERSONALLY choose to send wife and a few friends off to a Bollywood movie. A couple uninterupted hours will work wonders and you won't have to mess with MOST of it again. Anger is 'Fear Of A Loss' which in this case is a control issue, probably. Would the spouse otherwise opt to participate in the setup? Only the OP knows the answer to that riddle.

Haha u gentlemen are funny. Right now I don’t need a subwoofer cause I’m paying my ass off for those tannoys. Secondly, my wife liked these speakers. She actually approved the looks so yep I’m a happy man. I was paranoid whether she would like them or not cause well, they are a lil bigger than my def tech SM45!
Very soon I’ll be moving to a much bigger apartment where I will get a small but dedicated audio/ video room.
I made the wifey listen to some good female vocalists like Diana Krall. These speakers totally give another dimension to music.Even she was amazed at the quality of the speakers. All is well now. I’ll upload pics soon. I’m on a flight out of home for 5 days. She’s slowly but surely learning how to play my lps and use the record player. This hobby is so much fun. Enjoying every moment.
