Hi Guys, Silly question here but I can't find it anywhere, not in the manual either. When I have a stereo or two channel signal presenting itself to my XMC-1, either from my laptop or my TV, it automatically goes to Dolby PLiix Music or dTs Neo6 Music, whatever it feels like. I want to choose dTsNeo6 Cinema and save it and have it default to that surround mode every time. I have gone into the menu and chosen it, and according to the manual when you come out it is saved. NOT. Even saved that config to my stick but it doesn't "stick". Does anyone know how to save a default whatsyamcallit? Fake surround mode, whatever it is called? Thanks, any and all help appreciated. I am loving my XMC-1 but still do not really have it all figured out. God Bless, Wayne

I don't have the XMC in front of me, but I think to make a sound mode stick you do that in the individual setup options for each input.

Thanks Gabe, that is what I thought too. I have done that repeatedly, but no joy. But thanks for replying. God Bless, Wayne

Being that this isn't a support forum, the Emotiva staff may not be able to respond quickly vs calling them directly. That would be my advice, if other users can't help in a reasonable amount of time for you. But to help others, anything you find we hope you will share here.

Thanks Bootman, answers are slow here, but I would rather wait for them than pay for a LONNNNNNG Distance phone call half way around the world. Course, that is assuming that I do eventually get a good answer here. God Bless, Wayne

It's broke on mine, too. I have an input for my Shield where both 2.0 and 5.0 are configured for PLXII Movie (NOT music), but the XMC-1 pretty much always picks PLXII Music mode the first time a stereo signal is present.

A Toaster? Emotiva just sent me an email flogging a new Toaster? ?? Can I just get my XMC=1 working right? ?? I am guessing that was just a April Fools Day joke. No joking here, just would love some help. God Bless, Wayne

Hi Bill, I am running FW version 3.1 Is that where my answer lies? It is hard to remember now, but I "thought" the new FW was only for an update for the new cards supporting UHD. Install it? ? Thanks and God Bless, Happy Easter everyone, Wayne

OK Bill, it seemed silly to wait for your answer and silly to not be running the latest FW so I upgraded now. NO JOY My selections still do not stick. Any other suggestions? ? Thanks and God Bless, Wayne

Whoa Whoa Whoa, hold the presses, correction, I found it!!!!
I don't know if it is the new FW I just installed, or just user error (could easily be). When in setup, you go to the Input, select it, then keep going right!!! That is what I was not doing. It gives you a place to choose what to do with 5.1 AND 2.0. So when you select 2.0 you can then select Auto, and several of the fake surround sounds, in my case I wanted dtsNeo6 Cinema which I think sounds the most realistic for dialogue and most TV shows, or YouTube. Got out of it and they STUCK!!!! It works now. If I am not making this clear enough for anyone with the same problem I was having, please ask, I will delve into the instructions deeper. I think you will get it now. I believe I have, thanks, Happy listening, God Bless, Wayne

Yeah, I already used that menu and it's broke for PLIIX. At least it works right for Neo.
