Fact is that the term Tight But Loose was invented for Jimmy and Led Zeppelin. I can totally understand people not liking them live. Its a totally different experience. You either love it or you don't. I happen to love it. Its completely real and honest. Its integrity. No fakery or over rehearsed bubble gum. Some of it sucks, but some of it jams like no one else. No one.
But if you are looking for perfection or a live imitation of the studio, forget about it. That is not what Zep was about. They will agree with this statement 100%. Even studio Zep was at least 75% spontaneous. Sometimes 100%. Songs like Rock And Roll were made up on the spot in 5 minutes. People either get it or they don't.
Most true die hard Zep fans will tell you its the live stuff thats the best. No doubts. Much like Dead Heads. Live Dead smokes almost all studio dead. Not that studio Dead isn't great, but its just not the same.

Celebration Day Blu-ray played in stereo (instead of with the surround channels) is amazing. Probably my favorite concert Blu-ray. Watching Page play the guitar is mesmerizing. Greatest show they ever played. BUT, far from the best LZ show. It's the closest thing they ever did to copying the studio versions. Best and greatest are two completely different things. Most people do not undertand or comprehend that. That's a big discussion for another thread. Totally agree, 2 channel. The 5.1 mix totally sucks! Horrible. Jimmy Page does not know how to release live shows.

I just did the math and realized it’s been 45 years since I LOST interest in Zeppelin.....oh well. Bill
Just about the same time frame Bill I recall a Sunday afternoon listening on the radio to Stairway to Heaven I moved the dial to 96.5, WFMR was airing a performance of Verdi's Ernani
I’m fickle like that, especially since I have so many Pandora stations lined up. I might be listening to an Evard Grieg 🎹 concerto, And then go to Foo Fighters or TOOL, very cool alternative rock. Bill
