Can I plug a CMX-6 into a CMX-2?
I would suspect you can but always good to get the spin

My question is what if you plugged a CMX-2 in to a CMX-6 that was plugged in to a CMX-2 again?

Depends on the loads. The CMX-2 was designed for high current loads such as amps. The CMX-6 was designed for signal type loads. But if the eventual load flowing thru CMX-2 > CMX-6 > CMX-2 is low enough, I guess it would be O.K.

The CMX-2 I have is for my VTA ST-120 tube amp and also have a 6-plug powerstrip feeding my Pre and sources. I thought a CMX-6 would be better than an ordinary powerstrip. My SS amp comes off of a separate circuit with its own CMX-2. I wish they made these in 20-amp and not just 15-amp. mgbpuff > Do you have an MG?

I don't plug my amps into ordinary powerstrips, CMX-2 excepted. mgb is just my initials.

Well, I have 0.2VDC on my AC lines and my son shares the circuit with the SA250 amp and it can cause a slight hummmm when he plugs one of his i-products in. Thus the CMX-2.
I do have MG's and puff is short for a 'creampuff' - excellent shape. That's why I asked.
So I'm assuming no issues plugging in a CMX-6 to the CMX-2 for my rack gear.Or is it overkill as I believe the CMX-2 also filters AC.

I see it went up $20 since this morning IIRC

Depends on the loads. The CMX-2 was designed for high current loads such as amps. The CMX-6 was designed for signal type loads. OOC what leads you to believe this? Per the CMX-6's features, the website says: "Fully rated for use with high power amplifiers, will not limit peak current." I had thought the only difference was the DC Offset.

Disregard everything I ever said on the matter. Plug CMX-6 or CMX-2 into as many of each other as you desire. I won't. Why? Just because!

I wasn't asking for the purpose of being able to plug one into the other (something I would never do), but more for someone wanting to purchase one or the other. i.e. someone wants to buy a 6 and wants to plug his amps into it, but really shouldn't and needs to buy the 2, if what you say is correct. I bought a 6 a while back which I intend to plug some amps into (when the setup gets finished), so I have a particular interest in your reasoning.

Apparently, both are rated for heavy loads, so either can be used for an amp. It's just that the CMX-2 with its DC offset correction is more ideal for an amp which has larger transformers more likely to be affected by DC offset.

I had a CMX-6 plugged into a CMX-2 for about a year.
As far as I know, it never took down the San Francisco Bay area power grid.

I didn't know if it would create a problem like sometimes when one GFIC is plugged into another. Something along those lines.

What does it mean when all three leds are glowing on the cm6? Fluid is low! Lol. Its should be listed what it means next to the different, lights

There is no designation on the cm6 for 3 lit leds?

There is no designation on the cm6 for 3 lit leds? I know on a circuit tester for the outlets,, 2 lights on means good,,but not sure with cmx 6,,I would look at mine but not home. Try unplugging and in a different outlet
