novisnick: Thanks, am listening with terrific enjoyment and Emotiva, RME, and Tekton are all responsible -- as are the people on these threads that make it all work together. Wonder if amps are rather simple on one level: the best have the largest toroidal transformer and gobs of power -- preferably a lot of Class A. My experience with Class D has suggested this newer technology is not there yet. Found that putting each monoblock on a separate circuit DID make an improvement in sound that I can only describe as more secure and "continuous." In any case, would like to join your secret monoblock society and hope there is a secret handshake... So very happy for you! i have no idea what this secret is all about? Wish I could help you! 🤫 |

Unfortunately the DR-1's weren't what i expected. I moved to Bryston 28B-SSt2 monos and I'm really happy. I don't have any emotiva equipment in my reference system anymore. IMO I think Emo put the 2ch market on the back burner, nothing wrong with that. There are plenty of choices out there for everything No doubt in my mind that anyone moving to Bryston will enjoy an audio awakening. Top notch gear with the best warranty in the business. Nothing against Emotiva, just a totally different league...Congrats! Tim Tim, indeed the Brystons added (or erased) a different layer of clarity to the sound. I had to do some speaker arrangement after the swap. But definitely the xpr-1’s made the sound a little mellow. But IMO THE DR1’s are a step backwards to what i was expecting from emotiva. |
