Thanks for the info on the V3 board. All of my sources are connected via the XMC-1 so I would prefer to leave it that way. Currently I only have 4K DirecTV box so the base XMC-1 works fine. I am in process of replacing the Blu Ray player and Apple TV with 4K versions which will necessitate some change; likely to the V3 board. I was streaming via my TV prior to inclusion of the Apple TV, so as suggested by Gary Cook, I could use it for all streaming inputs and eliminate the requirement for ARC/CEC. Thanks again and if anyone else has advice I'm happy to get it. Which DirecTV box? I had the C61K working well with 4K/24/HLG (HDR), also the ATV4K streamed 4K from Amazon Prime and passed the Dolby Vision & HDR 60 tests as well as the HDMI cable test (those tests push the limits of HDMI 2.0). My Oppo UDP-203 played all the 4K disks I threw at it (mostly 4K/24/HDR or DV) as well as the accompanying Dolby TrueHD or DTS HDMA soundtracks. It would also play a Dolby Vision demo video from USB in 4K/60/DV, another tough test. All these devices passed through the XMC-1v3, to me the OSD is important. I used past tense because I purchased an RMC-1 where these all continue to work (with the addition of Atmos or DTS:X), but I’d think you’ll be in good shape with the V3 board.

The DirecTV box is a C61K-700 4K Genie client.

Doesn't 14 come after 8 ? It's not like it's 5.1.4 Maybe fw 6.0 would have alleviated your confusion.

Firmware version numbers are assigned when the firmware is compiled. At that point, it becomes a beta version, and is first tested in-house, then possibly released to our beta testers.
In this case there have been several intervening beta versions that turned out to be "not quite ready for prime time". This can happen because they have actual problems - or simply because we decide that they don't make a useful improvement.
Sometimes it works out that way and sometimes it doesn't .

Pretty vague on the details. Just ordered an AVM-60! Good luck. I got one about a week before the 4k board was released and it was dead on arrival.

Pretty vague on the details ... Fair point, none of the notes refer to the new release.

No it’s not on sale.
I’m pretty sure Emotiva has only ever shipped perfectly functional units, nothing ever slips past their “quality” control.

Cant believe companies sell such garbage.. Did they blame the connector company and refuse to accept any responsibility? Or was it your shipping provider? Maybe you were trying to plug it into the wrong outlet? Or it was THE POWER COMPANY’S FAULT!!! Or the seller that wasn’t Anthem?

Luckily the seller was a stand up dude.. he paid the $100 bill for anthem to open it up and plug it back in. Works AWESOME now. If I wasnt trying to add two more overhead speakers you'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands..

Is there a list of bug fixes more than the couple of comments in Keith's post?
- This is a STRONGLY RECOMMENDED update that fixes several issues. - This firmware updates or improves several CEC-related issues.
I have a new toy but the XMC-1 is likely to remain in my system for a while yet -- no time to take everything down and try to set up a new processor. I am inclined to wait a day or three and see how this update fares in case they find another critical bug. Mine has been working OK on 5.8 for a while now without losing links or having to reboot (knock on wood, taps head). HDMI negotiation is sometimes sketchy (and I have a simple system), and the looong lag changing inputs is a pain, but it works.

The main thing for the XMC-1 is that it improved or eliminated several problems with CEC.... Other than that, there may be some slight HDMI stability improvements, but CEC is the big thing.

I am not using CEC so probably update this weekend.
