Good morning. I'm just curious; are there any other uses for the outputs on the A-100 Flex amp, other than for daisy-chaining another amp?

You can feed an analog output source into the A100 easily. I have a CD player connected to my A100.

How about run the outputs to a couple subs? Or an outboard crossover and than to another pair of 'active' speakers?
This assuming they are 'variable' level outputs.......

A major drawback, in my opinion. It would be a perfect amp for a pair of bookshelves and a powered sub if the volume also controlled the RCA out.

Yep, indeed. If the output were variable, it would be a LOT more useful.
too bad.

New here and my A-100 will be arriving tomorrow. However, I agree that the line out should be variable.

It's strictly a pass-through; no need to have the A-110 on unless using the headphones. In fact, I have two stereo speaker amps with four speakers daisy chained and it sounds great! Chuck

Let me re-open this thread. Am I correct if I understand the daisy-chain is entirely passive, i.e. no signal regeneration? That must be the case if it works with the A-100 powered off, and for me it isn't an advantage, because it means that the load impedances are paralleled.

The specs on the A-100 call the rca outs "loop outputs." After researching loop outputs on the web I learned that they are in fact outputs hardwired to the inputs and have nothing else to do with the device to which they are attached. The device need not be powered up for the loop output to work.
So now we know what a "loop output" is.

I have just bought an Earthquake CP8 subwoofer to complement my pair of Focals SR700V www.earthquakesound.com/index.php/en/home-audio-division/home-products/home-subwoofers/item/cp8Apart from being slim (essential for me) and amplified, ih has a set of (stereo) RCA ins and a set of RCA outs. My BasX-A100 has its inputs connected to the RCA outs of the CP8, and its own RCA outs are unused. The RCA outs ot the CP8 are unfiltered BUT buffered, which solves the problem of not having two load impedances in parallel. So far, so good. J-J

I use them both as inputs... One for turntable one a RCA to 3.5 for playing my portable should I feel the need.

Errrr.......
You can do that, and the A-100 won't mind, but your other equipment might not be so forgiving. Both sets of RCA jack are connected directly together (no resistors - just a piece of wire). This means that, with two devices connected, the outputs of your two devices are connected together. Some devices may not mind at all, while others may not mind as long as only one is ever turned on at once......
HOWEVER, the outputs on some devices become nonlinear loads when they're off... and, if so, could cause the other device to distort. And, even worse, some devices really don't like having their outputs connected together... so, with some devices, you could actually damage one or both of them by connecting them that way.

Turntable doesn't seem to mind when digital player is on I turn the power off to the preamp. And if turntable is on the digital player is never hooked up but glad you mentioned it so other can proceed with caution.

Can a DAC be used to connect a digital player to the RCA inputs? Sorry for such a noob question, but I've never encountered RCA's that would not accept a digital signal.

Yes. Analog out form the DAC to the analog in of the a-100 will work just fine.

I just had REAL brainstorm.
Run a single input to the amp. Take the OUTPUT from that channel and run to the Input of the 2nd.....
Now What? Well, you have basically a 2-channel mono amp. You can run EACH output to the inputs of a BIAMPABLE speaker.
Locate ONE amp behind each speaker. You'll nee a longer RCA cable for each side and a SHORT jumper. Speaker cable will ne short, as well....a slight advantage, perhaps.
Power of 50x2 @8ohms is terrific for more sensitive speakers or smaller spaces. And the amp is rated to drive 4 ohm speakers.....a bonus.
