Just ordered the well reviewed 2010 (or maybe 2013?) Blu-ray set from Best Buy. Looked around on Amazon but they only seem to have the newer one from 2015 in an English version, and lots of people reporting it has issues. The older versions on Amazon appear to be French & Spanish sets, so buyer beware. Can't tell if it was released 3 times (2010, 2013, 2015), or the 2010 vs 2013 thing is just typos. The packaging picture looks identical. Anyway, got if from Best Buy for $50 plus Ohio state tax. www.bestbuy.com/site/deadwood-the-complete-series-13-discs-blu-ray/2715015.p?skuId=2715015

Looking forward to this. I have to confess though : I'm thoroughly going to miss the wall-to-wall douchebaggery of Powers Booothes' (R.I.P.) Cy Tolliiver character, one who is perhaps surpassed in sheer villainy and general badassness only by "da boss" himself, Ian Mcshane's sociopathic cussin' and swearin'' Swearengen...

Great news one of my favorites of all time as well. Powers Booth will be missed but it will be great to see Ian McShane back in the role he was born to play.
For anyone who has not seen Deadwood or those that want to see it again if you have Amazon Prime you can watch all seasons of Deadwood there on Amazon Prime. A great show!

Not an HBO subscriber, so have never seen the show. At a hotel tonight that has HBO. Worth watching or no?

The series was good.. I'd watch the movie, especially if they can get the same actors or most of them

Not an HBO subscriber, so have never seen the show. At a hotel tonight that has HBO. Worth watching or no? Not if you have never seen the show, no, absolutely not. From what the trailer does show, it appears to be very much a continuation of where the show left off, albeit, 10 years gone by. Not only will you not know what's going on, but you will not understand the nusances of the characters and what makes them so special. Watch the fan made trailer I attached above. If that looks remotely interesting to you, then I strongly recommend starting at the beginning and watching the entire series. As my wife describes it, its Shakespeare set in the wild west. One of the best shows ever made for sure.

Watched Deadwood the Movie tonight, it was great seeing Deadwood return and the movie was very good. You would definitely need to watch the series first to enjoy the movie. I never missed a show when Deadwood first aired and re-watched the whole series again about a year ago. Deadwood has always been one of my favorites.

The series was one of the best I've ever watched. I'll probably buy the movie if/when it gets released on DVD. Lonesome Dove was also pretty danged good. It was (IIRC) a 4 or 5 part series. Deadwood is raw, where Lonesome Dove was more refined. A couple of my all time favorites.

Let's put it this way; I could watch Lonesome Dove with my mom; Deadwood, not a chance Lonesome Dove was awesome, and not nearly long enough.

I like to watch old Gunsmoke episodes on the Western channel on Dish. I think I've seen em all at least twice.
