Hitting IMAX, I hope any of you with the chance to watch it in the format, especially in 70mm, will go see it, one of the most amazing movies of all time, not happening here in Cleveland, so please go see it if you have the chance, and remember, THE MORE YOU WATCH IT, THE MORE YOU GET OUT OF IT!

So weird. After many years I literally just bought the sound track, one of my favorite vinyl spins back in my teens. Gonna enjoy this in the AM.

The movie is not for everyone I'm glad YOU said this, and I hope you can take what I'm gonna say with humor and a smile, but I think I'd rather get a root canal without any pain killer than have to sit through that movie again. Full Metal Jacket is another story. But hey, thanks for posting, and don't stop. This is one of the ways us non-facebookers get our information anymore. Next month it might be something great.

I like the movie. It's true the pacing isn't the best. But perhaps that's the best part of it. I do wish the soundtrack had a bit more extension in the bass and a little more resolution but I suspect it was limited by the equipment at the time.

Like I said, it's not for everyone, if you do watch it again, you can appreciate it more, turn the volume up according to the system you have, then again, it's about the content, relax and enjoy.....

I pre-ordered the 4K UltraHD HDR disc that is to be released October 31st. I'll have to look for an IMAX showing. I saw the movie in its original release, I was only 12 at the time. I miss "real" theaters! Meanwhile, I'll keep adding inches to mine.

I care, and I am considering seeing it again at Cinerama this month in Seattle, 70mm showing sporadically during a 70mm revival this month. Managed to see it in 70mm in college in D.C. circa 1991. It is amazing what Kubrick envisioned and how glorious a representation of space he created so long ago. The masterstroke of course is the music, another way to express the enduring spirit and optimism that is the essence of humanity and our future. Especially relevant during our present political turmoil and apparent ambivalence to the acute and profound influence we are exacting on our climate and atmosphere.
Anyone who loves Kubrick should check out Barry Lyndon. Wow, and don't discount Eyes Wide Shut.

I had nicknamed that film: 2001 A SLEEPING 💤 ODYSSEY 2010 ain’t bad....I like that one.

I believe this movie, and the sequel by the way, are the kinds that some people can't appreciate, maybe because they don't like using their minds just for a couple of hours, to me it's an amazing ride....

This is one of those instances (and somewhat rare) when the sequel (2010 The Year We Make Contact) far surpasses the first installment. 2001 in IMAX.....no manner of special effects could spare us from the boredom....sorry! Another film directed by Stanley Kubric from the early 70's was "A Clockwork Orange". Probably the most disturbing film I've ever seen. I did like 2010 Ann

Glad to see another who has NO USE for Facebook...…….I've been on a mission to get my wife to bail out of the thing...….so far no dice. Using Netflix, we revisited Full Metal Jacket a few years ago.....A tough one, but a good film. Bill
